But spending years not being able to visit elderly parents, not attending funerals and weddings of people close to me, losing a career, artistic practice and community, my circle of friends falling apart, etc was all stuff that I did not quite recover from, and I do not even like brunch.

Honestly the loss of community and connection was probably the thing that did the most damage to me personally. Like I recognize that I am very lucky to not have not had people close to me die, there is plenty that will stick with me from the general fear and loss, and I was happy to quarantine…
It is kind of a funny process short term depending on how you anthropomorphize the thing, but I imagine that spending all day arguing with the robot as your job is a miserable experience.
I did spend a little time seeing how well Claude could generate some HLSL. The process of getting anything usable really is: Ask for code.
“Please check to see if you are doing something dumb and stop doing the dumb thing” x8.
Engaging in “discourse” with any Hasan or any other coherent leftist is going to open them up to a lot criticisms that may actually lose them voters/donors/media appearances, so it is important that they are the kind of people not to allow into the mainstream discourse.
Kirk did not really have any substantial arguments that could hurt most mainstream dems with their base. Newsom can have Kirk or Shapiro on his podcast have an argument with them where he hits all his talking points, and both he and the guest will advance their careers a little bit.
just saw that video with the tire men. but how do I make this about #FinalFantasy #FFVI
I was going to just take a quick rat break, but then I needed to make them tails, and a movement system, and spent my whole evening with the rats.

How are you defining LLM here?
There have been a variety of different attempts at language models, but I do not think there was anything being worked on that could be called a LLM before Google put out their paper on the deep learning transformers in 2017.
What do you think the word disinformation means?

This color palette is so good!
Sega is not involved, but the creator owns the rights and has put together a small studio of his own, and it sounds like they are working on a new entry as well as remakes of the first 2.
@freya.bsky.social's math for gamedev series get a little into the how of things but do a good job of focusing on what the math actually does, and were what ended up me finally getting my head around a lot of concepts, without ever learning to do much actual math.

Helpful stuff!
I really wish I had run into something like this when I was learning, everything seems pretty focused on learning how to do the actual math and how it works, which makes sense if you want to deeply understand, but I am lazy and just would like to understand what things do.
I think some combination of these two models would probably get you there but I am not sure if anyone has already set them up in a particularly user friendly way.

This is something machine learning is good at, and that does not necessarily require using the kind of LLM/Diffusion models that run off stolen art and data centers.
Unfortunately it might still be pretty technical and fiddly to get a good workflow set up.
Animal Well and Rain World are both do a lot of this well, except are still fairly compact.
Maybe moving progression away from finding items/powerups and towards getting the information to understand systems, have a lot of parallel ways of gaining that information. And instead of opening up new spaces open up new systems in the existing space.
I find in this kind of game players have learned that they need to focus on finding everything, in a way that being to big and branching feels stressful rather than freeing. I am not sure how you build systems to retrain them to enjoy being lost, and not exploring every little corner.
That was kind of what I was hoping for when I first saw Void Crew. It does a good job of the actually inhabiting a spaceship as a crew, but in the context of a quick action roguelike, something like that modded onto Elite’s travel and exploration would be great.
There is a generation of people who have grown up with online being the primary place where they exist socially. If your most important social circle is your internet friends your reputation there becomes pretty important in a way that those of us who remember before the internet cannot quite grok.
That is actually a pretty good analogy, as they are both people who are disliked for some valid reasons, but now have stories told about them that have very little to do with reality, that make them out to just be cartoonishly bad people, which will be uncriticaly reapeted on the internet forever.
You are recalling incorrectly.
There was a separate incident where he was sued by the Artist Alphonso Dunn for similarities in their instructional drawing books.
I have no idea how valid the acustions were, but the lawsuit was not successfull.
I do not think this is true.
The guy who started inktober trademarked the logo and did not want other people selling merch using it, and because he had existing internet drama, a lot of people tweeted things like this, and now everyone believes it.

Creating a signed distance field in HLSL and then projecting particle positions.
I think they just scrape job listings from elsewhere, if you search the text of the listing you can probably find the original.
They have a lot more listings because they do not take them down when they are filled. I looked at the first 3 in my field, and 2 were like 6 month old linkedin posts.
My memory of those Batmans was that he would just throw in some zeitgeisty political signifiers and than go way out of his way to not have any kind of position on them.
