When I see the news stories about the puberty blocker ban, I think about the little guy on the left. He's about nine here. He already knows he's a boy. His year group are having relationships and sex education at school, covering in detail all the changes that someone assigned female at birth can expect as they progress into adolescence. Most kids in his class find it quite funny. They're talking about sex and body parts with nine year olds, after all. He's not laughing. He's hoping, praying every night, that by some kind of magic he'll wake up one day and never have to go through that. Puberty blockers are that kind of magic. They would have stopped all the pain he's about to go through. The tears streaming down his face at a Travelodge in London as his period comes on early and he's tormented by his birth sex a week before he anticipated. The despair he experiences as he progresses up another cup size and an oversized hoodie isn't enough to hide his chest anymore. Hiding at his university halls instead of exploring a new city and going on adventures with friends because he's too afraid his body will betray him and he'll be misgendered from sunrise to sunset. It's too late for me. By the time I was able to start medically transitioning, they would have had no effect. It's not too late for today's trans kids. Fight for them.

For actual emergency issues I can understand. I don’t need immediate info about Greg Wallace. Just tell me when you have the full story
One of my gripes about push notifications is when it’s a breaking news story and the the article isn’t complete so doesn’t tell me any more info than the headline
Post of Keir saying he will make spiking illegal
Spiking will be made a criminal offence.
The Labour government was elected to take back our streets, central to this mission is making sure women and girls can feel safe at night.
Perpetrators of spiking will feel the full force of the law.

I hate echo chambers online.
In real life, if I want to share an opinion like my favourite colour, I go and stand in a room full of nazis and let them call me a paedophile and threaten to kill me in numerous violent ways.
It’s the only way to have a constructive conversation.
