One day the job market will improve and it won’t be nearly impossible to even get an interview, right? #jobhunting #compsci #newgradoverflow

Honest question for #Java #developers:
When did #Spring or #SpringBoot become synonymous with Java? I use Java in my job for several things, but it usually is used with Tomcat here, but I rarely see mention of one without the other lately.
Referring to 0 factorial. Sorry about that. Had the ! On the wrong side
#math questions for the nerds! In simple terms, who can explain why !0 = 1? I’m having a debate with a coworker because I can’t wrap my head around the concept. #mathematics #compsci #calculus
It's been awhile! I see nothing but doom and gloom regarding the job market for developers lately (especially newbs like me!). Let me see/hear something that... isn't? #developers #jobmarket #opentowork #hype
Are lectures/talks included, or are they all full? (I've never been and want to experience as much as possible!)
#jobhunt question. I don’t care what industry you’re in or aiming for, but who can explain why job postings ask what is the maximum you’d accept? Who would say “I don’t want more money than $X? It just seems weird to me… #hr #lookingforanswers #opentowork
Question for my fellow #developers : How do you respond to people saying the job market is "near impossible" to get into as a new developer these days?
For any who see this, please share. I'm really curious about it as I hear it a lot myself!

I took a 3 day “stay-cation” last week, and return to work tomorrow. Sometimes it’s a good idea to just… relax.

There’s a guy I talk to on discord I went to school with. We have similar career goals, however he has made MUCH more headway in reaching his goals. I’ve seen his resume and he has much more background than me! It’s so hard not to compare yourself to others, but we must….

After a week of not feeling well, and another just.... busy and not knowing anything to write about, I'm still here. I still never know what to post about on any social media, even personal accounts. Maybe why I don't use them much anymore? I'm trying, but it's tough!
Yesterday I posted about networking and how tough it is to network when you’re introverted. I have 10 followers here partially because I am one such person. I would like to change that! So if you too are a shy introvert, especially in the tech industry, give me a follow or share this post!

Woo! I just got my lobes to 1/2”!
Happy Monday!
Let's talk networking!
I, like many developers or even computer science/software dev/ etc students, am terribly shy and as such not great at marketing! How do you get past that invisible wall?

I never know what to say on here, or social media as a whole really. I’m just a new developer trying to learn in a world telling me not to bother since either “no one writes their own code anymore” or “AI will replace you”

Networking as a #developer is tough! The profession brings a low of reclusive individuals (myself included) and I’m not good at meeting people!
One advantage to working in an educational institution, is the time off. I don’t return to work until the new year, and hopefully I’ll be spending the time practicing coding and working on the things I don’t normally have time for.
That’s not far off from what I did, but I added to void just after the initial layer to make sure the chip had plenty of space. You can see then through the print even but it doesn’t bother me
TPU would be great honestly, but would that leave the rfid chips open to damage or dislodging?
Rubber ducks are fun! I have a few left in my office for some holiday or other, then I started 3D printing them en mass (I have hundreds at this point). I work at a college and leave them all over campus for people to find
I posted this on LinkedIn and got less reaction than I expected… thoughts? My new business card, a 3D printed rubber duck with embedded rfid chips.

Before my last manager left I asked her for advice on projects and she suggested I design “something involved and more complex that shows what I can do”, but I never have project ideas that you don’t see 99 times out of 100 portfolios. I’m open to ideas! Please? #programming #cscareer #projecthelp
My company just let go a very capable and excellent interim manager on Friday. They already have a new contractor. There’s a secret meeting Friday to “restructure” my whole department, but no plans to fire anyone. How screwed am I?

I have not been getting notifications here, and that makes me sad…
Being one who lives in/near Baltimore, stuck in traffic on my way to work. I can’t decide if the increased commute is from the rain, or fallout from the #KeyBridge incident…. #Baltimore #Developer
Developer question: I have a disagreement with the senior devs at my job. They insist that most organizations just use 3rd party software so “actual” developers are more of a rarity and the title “programmer” is basically a website administrator. I disagree. Thoughts?
Hot take: AI is a great tool, and if used properly can help you become a better developer. However as anyone who has used it can attest, it will never replace us fully. (developers specific)

At work I’ve been tasked with creating a relatively simple api. I was given an architecture to build off of, and despite it being a fairly simple api, I’m having more trouble with it than I should. It the first time I’ve made an api, but it reminds me I still have a lot to learn #softwaredevelopment
Working in an environment where the upper management is resistant to any new ideas they didn’t come up with is peak toxic work environment.

No worries. I’ll say starting out there’s something to be said for being in person, but that “need” fades fast. Granted to this is also dependent on your seniors and how much they’re willing to help etc
