Album of the day: Bonnie Raitt - Slipstream. IMO a better album than the one she famously won a Grammy for recently.
Give it a listen!

Album of the day is the brilliant ZZ Top 1980 album 'Deguello'.
Was spinning this tonight. Underrated album IMO.
Most the world agree except in Israel where the majority are in favour.

Nice system!
Dusty Hill died in 2021.
BTW my father was a member of 622 squadron in WWII and he was a fanatical collector of history books and memorabilia. My 'expertise' on the subject (I'm always learning like everyone but I do know more than the average person) comes from him.
OK my patience is limited. I can argue the toss with far right/Nazis all the way till the cows come home but I left FB mainly to get away from that (I'm just getting too old). But given the constraints on the number of characters in Bluesky this really isn't the place for an in depth debate!
No all of far right Europe!
Racial purity is like eugenics a myth. See above.
Nazi ideology was seeded from Theosophy and the writings Madame Blavatsky. The now debunked theories of racial 'purity' (eg Aryan race) are strongly linked. Also it's worth remembering that the Nazis were supported by very wealthy people (like Reform) and ultimately catholics (like in the US).
And here is the great man himself behind LS. Mariusz Duda:

Just seen a post about soloing in rock music. They listed every instrument (incl drums, keyboard, sax) but claimed that bass soloing is 'unforgivable'. Hmmm! They should've listened to this track methinks..

In a new feature I'll call 'album of the day' I'll feature an album from my personal collection. Today: Little Feat's excellent live 'bootleg' from 1974.
The US and Israel have bombed 763 schools and 316 health facilities in Iran since the war began, according to the Iranian Red Crescent.
A couple of errors in this list - Nursery Cryme isn't on Selling England...

NEW: Richard Tice failed to pay almost £100,000 in corporation tax, benefiting his investment company which made large donations to Reform UK.
First time Reform's deputy leader's tax affairs can be directly linked to finances of Nigel Farage's party.
Better on vinyl this. The CD makes the sax sound like a synth.
Little Guitars.
Nazis were not 'socialists'! Hitler added 'Socialist' to 'National' to help appeal to a wider audience (much like Reform UK today does). He denounced socialism in his 1924 book 'Mein Kampf' all his allies were 'far right' and he helped Franco fight socialists in the Spanish Civil War (1930s).
I've just recently returned to Led Zeppelin 3. Some of the other albums get a lot of publicity, but for me this is one of their finest. Van Halen are mostly known with regards to the 'Diamond Dave' era for the first and 1984. 'Women and Children First' (1980) is underrated.
Hemispheres - Rush.
Here's why vinyl enthusiasts prefer vinyl in many cases - you just can't seem to get this tonality from CD or streaming.
As it's vinyl week (and RSD) I'd just like to feature my turntable (well it's not actually 'my' turntable but one like it) through valve amplification (which I have throughout from needle to speaker). I think you can appreciate the tone of this acoustic guitar piece.

Porcupine Tree - We Lost the Skyline.
I notice that amongst the usual suspects in RSD we have this 'mini' album that was recorded instore at a Record Store in Chicago 2007. I don't have the (now rare) vinyl version of this but I do have the CD version and if you get the chance it is definitely worth searching out.
Considering moving to something like the new Quad 303 power amp in the future if I can get a good deal on my Prima Luna power amp. Money is tight for everyone these days!
Soon be time to change my output tubes. Need to change them every 15-18 months. I love my all valve system via vinyl (valve phono stage; valve pre amp and valve power amp) but god the upkeep is expensive!
