It's worth noting that BBC News, for a couple of years now, have refused to accept complaints about the framing of their news stories. Indeed, they deny ever using framing. Yet the framing of this one โ one of several LGBT+ hit-pieces from them based on a single event โ is clearly biased horribly.

A German can do upwards of 6 years English and is still saying uniwersity.
Disagree on that. That's first year GCSE German mistakes. By the time you're on to A-Levels (so 3-4 yrs learning in total) those things are ironed out completely.
It's especially weird because by the same logic an English speaker would mispronounce the german word as uniFersitaet. (f as in feather)
But they don't. They pronounce it exactly as a German would exopect. A very quirky double standard
I know germans who still stubbornly say "uniwersity" (w like worse) even though the english v sound already exists in the german word for university.
Some things make no sense at all, but that's linguistics for ya... ;-)
To be fair on the "th" though - italians, french and germans find this very difficult to pronounce.
