I had knee surgery a couple years ago and every single part of it was driven by me. The surgeon gave me two options and wouldn't put their thumb on the scale to tip me towards one or the other even slightly - the most they could do was present me with different recovery timetables.

I wish they could be open 24 hours. But the limitation only makes me crave them more
