There's a 4K character ROM on the terminal board too. I have a ROM set so this is just for comparison until I get it running.

Can you dump the ROMs, this is not yet emulated so should probably take a look at it sometime.

The world needs more Torch resurrections!

I really should've changed the keys when I played, too many missed lifts due to indecisive finger and thumb.

Always ZX:/, never use SPACE for anything requiring precision, as many were destroyed thanks to the likes of Planetoid.

Also started with ZX81, dad had to search wide and far to find a WHSmith that had one in stock and would hold until we get there.

Not heard of this Paxton variant before, a more common luggable Master was the LTM Portable (a B+ version was also available).

Was my score beaten on day 2?

5 months ago 2 0 1 0

He hadn't, and got that score on his second attempt!

That was a tough score to beat, I came close a few times. I'm the other two on the left, though one of them was beaten at the end of the day.

Not a widely used CPU, but Tomy narrows it down considerably.

Here's some emulation progress of the rare Wren Executive, only 1000 made. An interesting CP/M machine with 64K/256K RAM and graphics capabilities with colour attributes. It also came with BBC BASIC and had a 40 column mode with 8 colours for Prestel.

Oh, different issues! Is the Limpet test disc imaged too?

What does the /38 signify? I started some emulation improvements on the P2000 range a few months ago that I need to get back to.

Not a lot of clues there, maybe a VideoWriter?

Same here, my i7-4770K is still plenty for my uses. Have enrolled in the free extended support to get another year out of it though.

Looks like a much smaller event back then.

The only BBC game in the top 30 being 747 Flight Sim sounds a bit suspect.

Wireless video? Not seen anything like that before. Is it even legal to transmit in the UK?
I remember in the 80's we had a video sender box that would transmit the VCR to other TVs in the house, am sure it wasn't legit.

I knew it looked familiar, but still had to look it up to be sure.

Looks a bit Thorny!

Looks like some dodgy bloke is nicking bits out of them!

I'll be there.

Ah, so yours announces itself as 68000XD for the disk version, and the ROM is 68000XR, never knew that. More of this Crossware stuff needs archiving as so little is available to play with.

The Crossware 68K ROM that's archived is from 1985. I'd be interested in any Crossware ROMs you have in case there's anything not yet archived.

Don't think I've ever seen you with anything Acorn before!

Speaking of Dragons ... no meetup this year, or are the usual suspects at GameFest instead?

With the latest video improvements in MAME 0.280 we can now also play with the PMS Genie ROM (with PMS Clock). It's quite an impressive package for the time with 32K battery-backed RAM to keep it's data safe.

Another clone of the BBC Micro, the extremely rare (only two known to exist) Hope Dolphin from India is also now officially supported.
