Not a huge Liefeld guy either way but it's incredible just how much better the "Retro" version of this Youngblood variant cover looks than the standard one. Turn off the bloom filter, man!

Invincible Iron Man #525
Found a longbox of my childhood comics last night that I thought I'd lost. The stuff that lot wasn't bagged seems to have taken some gnarly water damage, but I'm reliving a lot of memories. For example, here's the cover that made me think The Mandarin was The Coolest Guy Ever when I was 12:
The secret cheat code to breaking this dichotomy is to remember that other comics exist besides Spider-Man and Batman. You can start Walking Dead or Spawn or Saga at #1 too!
No!
People who aren't on Twitter anymore can't understand how bad it is out there. It's genuinely the biggest, broadest, most all-encompassing discourse I have seen on there in a long while. It's been raging for like 3 weeks and is only just now dying down.
1. Empire Strikes Back 2. A New Hope 3. Return of the Jedi 4. Attack of the Clones 5. The Last Jedi 6. The Force Awakens 7. Revenge of the Sith 8. The Phantom Menace 9. Rise of Skywalker
After finally finishing off the sequel trilogy, here's about what I'm thinking on Star Wars. Haven't seen Solo or Rogue One or any of the TV shows and I'm not really in any rush to do so tbh. The cut off for "good" is either before or after TFA depending on my mood.
Started strong and just slowly collapsed from there
Not interested in your trolling. I’d rather listen to music and dance.
Really great storytelling going on this week, with TMZ pivoting to politics at the exact same time Marvel Studios reveals they're totally abandoning Hollywood for good
It's gonna be so funny when that shit comes out looking like the Netflix DMC
Comic book xover featuring apes in armor titled "Gorilla Warfare Issue"
Yeah I read the news
Obviously some part of this is just media sensationalism but between stuff like this or the warehouse attacks or the congresspeople being threatened over AI it does kinda feel like things are Moving
Is this site barely working for anyone else these last few days? Every time I click on something new I have to reload the page 2 or 3 times to make it appear
Also the inverse, "Pareidolia must mean humans evolved to watch out for SOMETHING hiding in plain sight..." as if caveman were being hunted by giant evil chameleon men
You don't see it much anymore but it went double-platinum on 2010s Facebook pages called shit like "Science F@#&ing Rules"
Some of the best pop science drivel to ever get super popular was "the existence of the uncanny valley means there must have been some pressure for early humans to learn to fear things that look human but aren't..." with the subtext being, you know, aliens or demons or monsters
Look, man, I know that if this 15 years ago we'd be rolling our eyes at the overly-safe list of Nintendo adventure games and PS1 JRPGs, but, like... those were just better. We had better taste as a culture when we let Millenial gaming youtubers decide it versus zoomer video essayists.
Ass is going all-in on shit
"We are running against corruption, so we can't waste our time being seen as trying to punish corruption! That would be silly!"
Propeller hat dog

Not a bad few weeks! I like movies with laser guns and cool monsters!
Watched Last Jedi.
The Force Awakens is a 3-star flatline, rarely offending my taste but also rarely exciting me, while The Last Jedi is an erratic sine wave that wobbles between peaks and valleys every other scene.
Here's some reasons we HATE Return of the Jedi: 3 of the greatest Little Guys that George Lucas ever brought to the silver screen
If you hate Salacious B. Crumb I hate you‼️‼️‼️
Sometimes I look at a movie on Letterboxd and the most popular review is "1/2 star - The lead is a virtuoso, the soundtrack made me weep and I've been thinking about that final shot for 3 hours, but the main character is literally a cop :/" and my ability to ignore reviews I disagree with is tested
I don't like to conspiracypost but literally why else would she be saying this if not to get ahead of some new file release or exposé
Okay so something big is about to come out, right
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Over the years I have given this game 2 or 3 goes. Each time, something comes up in my life, or a new game or hobby distracts me and I don't go back. But with rumors of a remake on the horizon, I think it's time to really commit.

In this timeline he 100% continues to claim he's regularly speaking with heads of state and that he's involved in ending wars he had 0 involvement in
I generally go by that but the awards season stuff is always weird. Ann Lee got snubbed at the Oscars but it was in the conversation as a major snub so I felt better about considering it as last year.
