When faced with adversity for our community, I was proud to step up with Uber & ACHIEVEability with a solution to keep our seniors mobile & safe. Our program was so successful, we'll be starting up again soon! Thanks to the Philadelphia Inquirer for the coverage.

We cannot accept a reality where lives are lost on our streets without immediate, coordinated response. I'm proud to work on this updated Jay Alerts proposal with Sen. Williams that focuses on Philly because safer streets mean saving lives.

This facilities plan is not what our community needs and is not what we stand for. The Board of Education hasn't made their final vote yet, but I would remind them of the simple message of student Winston Hayes at last week's meeting: “Remember, you can vote no."

I'm standing up for Overbrook Elementary at every opportunity. Thanks to WHYY for their coverage of our community's voice at the Board of Education Town Hall. These decisions are too rushed for something that will impact generations of Philadelphians.

When we invest in mass transit - we ALL win! I support the SEPTA Key Advantage & the Zero Fare program to help our city workers and most vulnerable neighbors get where they need to go, because if Philly isn't moving - Pennsylvania's economy simply doesn't work.
For the safety of you and my staff, my office will be closed today, Monday, Feb. 23 because of the snow and winter weather. We'll be monitoring email, so please reach out to us at RepCephas@pahouse.net if you need assistance and we'll get back to you as soon as we're able. Be safe and stay warm!
It was an honor to bring our community together to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through music, prayer, and reflection, while fostering a shared sense of purpose as we navigate the challenges of today’s world. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvfT...
I hope you’re able to join me on Monday as we honor Dr. King’s legacy at my Voices of the Dream: MLK Day Gospel Celebration & Community Resource Fair. This is a great opportunity to celebrate and honor the values, principles, and beliefs of Dr. King, which are in need more than ever today.
I’m proud to announce over $1.6 million has been awarded to multiple local projects to enhance our community spaces that are such an important part of the fabric of our neighborhoods in West Philadelphia!

During this holy time of Hanukkah, let us reflect and rededicate our worldwide efforts to a society free from gun violence & hatred. Keep a light in your heart for Sydney’s victims and their families.
Thanks to @governor.pa.gov for investing in our neighborhoods, like City Ave District thought the Main Street Matters Program. Investing in our small businesses is the future of our economy and keeps our communities vibrant.

It was my privilege to officially rename the 6300 block of Lansdowne Ave. as "Jayanna Powell Way" with Councilmember Curtis Jones, Jr., Sen. Anthony Hardy Williams and Jayanna's family. Jayanna will never be forgotten, and her name will shine on over our community.
It was an emotional event on Saturday morning as we renamed the 6300 block of Lansdowne Ave. as "Jayanna Powell Way" in honor of 8-year old Jayanna whom we tragically lost in 2016. Let us continue to focus on her legacy to be a force for good in her community.

I'm proud of the impact that our Dignity for Incarcerated Women’s Act in 2023 has had for ensuring more rights for pregnant and postpartum inmates. This new location for Ardella's House will help so many more women with their return to their community.

Today's action by Gov. Josh Shapiro is a huge relief for our most vulnerable Philadelphians who rely on SNAP to keep food on the table. This is what compassionate leadership looks like.

Too many of our neighbors are being forced to choose between heat, food, or rent. I’m calling on Congress to fund LIHEAP and end the shutdown so families can stay safe and warm this winter.

While we’ve certainly made progress, our work isn’t done, and we must continue the fight to prevent maternal deaths.

For two years, my co-chairs and I have worked together to improve Black maternal health in Pennsylvania. Thank you to every advocate, family, and policymaker on this journey.
Let's keep the 🙌 heat on DC so we can keep the 🔥 heat on in our homes! Join us at City Hall on Monday at 10am or watch online as we fight for LIHEAP funding & call for No Shutoffs During the Shutdown.

The combination of losing LIHEAP and SNAP at this time of year is a worst-case scenario. People should not have to choose between food on the table and keeping their home habitable.
