Patreon does the blog article/emailed newsletter structure like substack & also doesn't charge at the free tier. That's where I moved when I ditched substack & it's fairly basic but easy

I've just read a book that exemplified for me how you can do some really solid historical research & worldbuilding whilst still doing no work to unpick your own unconscious biases.

And welp that really sabotaged an otherwise very good read.

I have finished this edit of this converging-timeline ephemera-narrated parallel Carboniferous Earth orchid smuggling crumbling utopia book. No one is ever going to let me publish this beast but hell, I got to write about mad camera drones, giant centipedes & malevolent clubmoss. So I had fun!

I feel very lucky to have got to work with him & his endless patience with my random requests!
