Whenever I hear "the government will protect us from ourselves by removing the ability for us to make bad decisions. because of course the government knows what is good for us." it is a glaring ginormous wildly flapping red flag. wikipedia article on the carotid arteries

"phone is bad". sure. that can be your opinion. or the truth, if its supported by evidence. "which is why we are taking phone away from everyone. the government has your best interests at heart" flies directly at your throat and teaches you things i learned on the internet

i kind of dont care if extensive evidence has proven that something is bad. People should be informed of that evidence, and then allowed to make their own choices.
