What if a relationship with God looks less like a system of beliefs and more like a posture of receptivity?

I suspect the government shutdown ends soon now that it's impacting business travel. It's very disheartening that feeding kids and supporting our troops hasn't been enough motivation for Congress to work together. 😔

What you’re seeing out there isn’t following Jesus.
Nationalism builds walls. Fascism worships power.
That’s man twisting God’s words for their own ends.
Jesus, in the Sermon on the Mount: Blessed are the poor. Love your enemies. Welcome the stranger. That’s following Jesus.

A LLM won’t lead you.
It’ll follow you perfectly.

If you bring insecurity, it’ll dress it up in clean language.
If you bring wisdom, it’ll meet you there.

They’re not guides.
They’re reflections.

And how you use them says more about you than anything they generate.

OMG YES… say that‼️

@tarasetmayer.bsky.social nails it.

Honestly, we’ve been waiting for politicians to catch up to where the people are—and it’s getting damn late!

Why 'Compassionate Conservatism' Failed Market-based self-sufficiency can't cure poverty.

"Without attacking the ownership structure that allows capitalists a greater share of the value created, we’ll live a long way from anything resembling the Kingdom of God as Jesus described it." (2019)

Many in modern Western Christianity have tried to reverse the order—believe the right truth, then behave the right way, and experience life. But Jesus teaches orthopraxy leading to orthodoxy—practice shaping belief.

True transformation isn’t behavior management—its new desires formed by surrender. As God ignites the heart, old loves lose their pull, and life becomes a response to His love, not a striving for it. 🔥

Humility is surrender, not passivity—it’s a radical availability to God.

“The deepest level of communication is not communication, but communion. It is wordless. It is beyond words, and it is beyond speech... it is the grasp of truth by love.” - Thomas Merton

Goals don’t have to be about outcomes. They can be about orientation. A surrendered life to Christ isn’t passive—it’s deeply intentional. You still aim your life toward something, but the aim is shaped by discernment, not ego. The path is walked with God, not ahead of Him.

Apple CEO Tim Cook explains why Apple chooses China for manufacturing YouTube video by Panacea

Instead of harmful #tarrifs, the USG should invest in research and development to replace Chinese manufacturing with automation ( #robotics & #ai )? By doing so, would this not create jobs, help the economy and bolster national security?

Following Christ doesn't require behavoir modification. It simply requires you to allow Jesus to bring about a heart transformation. Ezekiel 36:26

When Christians Love Political Power More Than People When Christians love political power more than people, the good news of God’s love is substituted for enforcing our preferred brand of religion.

"When Christians love political power more than people, they pursue the goals of a political party rather than the goals of Jesus, and promote a partisan policy rather than the Kingdom of God." (2017)

Does Progressive Christian Financial Advice Exist? Yes. The first lesson? That money isn't yours.

For a time, I’ve felt that Dave Ramsey’s approach mirrors Stanley Long's (Urban Ministries) idea of “get yours, give the crumbs to others.” I’m now looking for Christ-centered financial resources. Found this article: sojo.net/articles/doe.... Any other recommendations? #FaithandMoney #AltRamsey

As I explore contemplation and mysticisim, I'm amazed at how much I don't know about the early church. It's too bad that more time isn't spent in Protestant churches to inform and discuss the early development of the Church. Perhaps this is more common in the Catholic and Orthodox tradition. #faith

Then, Jesus began rebuilding my faith. Books by Henri Nouwen, Rich Villodas, & John Mark Comer (thanks to my daughter Gloria for Practicing the Way) are helping me rediscover a faith far richer than the rigid certainty of the conservative evangelical right.

During COVID, the response from too many in my faith community pushed my wavering faith over the edge. I went full-on deconstruction, even exploring Agnosticism. But I kept searching—through countless YouTube podcasts, Christian Mysticism, and Kingdom Theology (N.T. Wright).

Remember when streaming was supposed to be cheaper than cable? Now GenAI subscriptions are pulling the same move. $30/month for AI in Outlook? What happened to cross-compatibility, folks? We're all just frogs in a slow-boiling subscription pot. 🐸🔥💳 #subscriptionfatigue #ai

A 40-year 'conspiracy' at the VA The story behind perhaps the most important medical computer system in history.

What if govt software went open source? VistA rocked it—efficient, transparent (2017 Politico: www.politico.com/agenda/story...). Trump’s 80k VA cuts loom. Greedy capitalists might squirm, crying ‘waste’ while cashing checks. Greed’s a tough mask. Thoughts?

What if we stopped blaming countries and started calling out the individuals—the leaders, insiders, or influencers—who push the policies and narratives? Pinpoint the puppet masters, and the truth behind the mess gets a lot clearer.
