So many times in the recent past we’ve played against teams/players who (at that time) were in absolutely wretched form only for them to rediscover their mojo the second their boots touch the Villa Park turf.

On a lot of occasions this season, our substitutions have made little to no sense. Taking off Kamara, our heartbeat and midfield general, whether he needed rest or not, was a dreadful call yesterday. Tielemans I can kind of understand, he’s physically quite a way behind, no dynamism at all from him.

If they don’t and we do take a slide we’ve only ourselves to blame for not taking care of our own business.

The way we’ve played overall in the league this season, it’s a surprise we’re as high as we find ourselves!

Hard to really praise or berate the side after such a comfortable yet mundane half of football.

Nice to see us largely untroubled at the back but, bar Rogers, not much is coming together in an attacking sense.

Time after time he just seems to be that one step ahead, in terms of his anticipation. Silky smooth composure on the ball and makes correct decisions a lot more often than not. All traits of top-tier players.
