Going to the Waxahatchee show and my wife asks me “are they going to play any ps eliot songs?” Realizing she’ll always be cooler than me

I refuse to push the button at Schnucks for them to unlock the case. I will buy my deodorant somewhere else

King Gizzard leaving Spotify might actually get a ton of ppl to ditch the platform. Obv they aren’t Taylor Swift or anything but there are Gizz fans who only listen to Gizz.

Episode 149 with Patrick Lyke is dropping this Friday at noon! We chat about his unreleased song “Army Surplus,” why you should always sell your CDs in sandwich cases, and maybe visit a national park or two.

What if we all just stopped talking to people who use Spotify?

I’ll never forget the first time I heard “Don’t Worry Baby”. The vocal harmonies at the beginning hit me like a semi truck. To this day I’m completely floored by it. Brian Wilson was the greatest

Why is the deodorant behind glass at the store? Are people really stealing deodorant? The beer isn’t behind glass. I’m not getting the underpaid employee to stop what he’s doing to unlock the glass case. I’m going to buy that shit online instead

I remember a home town band who I adored got a 6.4 on Pitchfork and I knew they were done for. Anything under an 8 was career ending

Since the first note of the first album I’ve been a Tennis fan. I played that album and every album since to death. I remember Pitchfork giving them bad reviews from the start. I always wondered if Tennis would be a bigger band if Pitchfork was nicer, Pitchfork used to have power like that

I was a casual Band of Horses listener until I saw them in Peoria and they put on one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Since then they’ve been my summertime soundtrack. Picked this copy up in Carbondale at Plaza Records, right after surviving a tornado in the middle of the Shawnee

I went to a Ted Leo show when I was a broke college student. He was selling every record for 10 bucks each. I had 30 bucks on me and got everyone but Shake the Sheets. I think about that like once a week. If only I had 10 more bucks

Sometimes it is simply enough that something exists.
Doesn't matter who sees it.
Doesn't matter who listens to it.
Creating something (physical creation or not) doesn't have to be perfect.
DOESN'T MATTER IF NO ONE LOVES IT.
Don't be afraid to create something and bring it into this world.

Also shout out to Record Stop in Charleston SC. Awesome shop, the guy that runs it is the coolest, most memorable dude

I’ve been to Amoeba records in LA, Grimeys in Nashville, Reckless in Chicago, love my local shops Exile on Main and See You, they are all great but I love record shopping in STL. Dead Wax, Vintage Vinyl, Euclid, Infinite Spin, Record Exchange. I could spend a week at each shop

Been following Population II since their first album but never saw one of their records out in the wild until this week. Scooped this up at Euclid Records in STL. Very cool psych rock out of Quebec.

Thought I was going to be reading a book about the Dead Kennedys recording their first album. Ended up reading a book about San Francisco in the 70s, yuppies, the Briggs Initiative, the assassination of Harvey Milk, and the rise of Dianne Feinstein. 5 stars
