Good grief. Are you really this tone deaf or just completely out of touch with reality? I see what you’re trying to do, it’s cute, but save it for your politically illiterate comrades, Anton. Take it to the ballot. 👍

People who cry? You’re referring to the taxpayer who may be opposed to the idea, correct?

1 month ago 1 0 1 0

Sorry pal, not buying it. The fact so many don’t have a clue tells you all you need to know. Hard to see it any other way. They’re trying to push this through before the next election. Nothing should surprise anyone with this mayor-council.

Put it on the ballot and allow the taxpayer to chime in.

“ton”’of consultation done whatsoever and that has also been acknowledged by some from the city.

Easy now, where did I say myself personally? And you’re right, fast times for some of us, hard to keep up. What I do however know is this. Not a single person we know downtown and anyone in the small biz community has a clue of what’s going on, where it begins/ends and so on. So no, there was not a

Agree or disagree with the two-way conversion, everyone should have a serious problem with the lack of meaningful public consultation.

This less than mediocre #HamOnt council should have left it up to the taxpayer to vote on at the upcoming election instead of trying to push this through.

All is great right up to “free or discounted contributions” from skilled labour-trades. Great in theory, but this is where the problems start. Something many of these organizations continue to fail to comprehend.

Focusing on free-discounted materials is the way to go but pay your workers. #HamOnt

If the focus isn’t on affordability and critical infrastructure (roads, water, sewer), we’re just spinning our tires for another four years. #HamOnt taxpayers want and deserve a return to the basics, especially with property taxes climbing every year. There’s only so much to go around.

A storm parking ban might work on the mountain where most homes have driveways and wider streets.

But across lower #HamOnt where century homes lack driveways, rentals are dense, and parking lots keep disappearing, a blanket ban would create chaos. Many residents simply have nowhere else to go.

This is great news for our local, independent restaurant and bar scene as they gear up to capitalize on the #WinterOlympics hockey games and more. #TeamCanada #supportlocal #HamOnt 🇨🇦

He, or at the very least his office, should be responding to constituents. Right now it feels less like he’s here for Hamilton Centre and more like he’s here for the paycheque.

It’s unfortunate that the riding is stuck with 2 backbenchers but it was the only way to rid the riding of Jama-Green.

Regardless of the workplace, it’s their choice which platform they use to convey their message.

As for Rana, he got in because the riding had lost confidence in Green and the NDP, and rightly so. Many have raised concerns since, and he appears to be operating on his own agenda. Not surprising.

You don’t get to dictate or “have pull” over what platform your employer, or anyone uses. That’s not how it works.

I may not agree with everything about X, but it’s still the one place where political messages consistently get seen. For politicians, reach ultimately matters.

Mastodon is tiny. 🤷‍♂️

When the dust settles, this will prove exactly why the mayor, most of lower #HamOnt council, and the staff who drove this fiasco need to be shown the door.

Hamilton residents have put up with more than enough this term.

BRONZE FOR CANADA 🇨🇦

Valerie Maltais, in her 5th Olympics, wins bronze for Canada in the 3000m final.

It’s her first individual medal in long track speed skating. And it’s Canada’s first medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

We really do.

You’ve obviously never seen bars-restos jam packed at all hours of the night-morning across the country for years now for Olympic hockey, the World Cup and so on. It’s become a tradition.

Post-COVID where many local #HamOnt bars-restos continue to play catch-up, this is brilliant.

Whether you like X or not, it remains by far the most effective platform for reaching and relaying information to constituents which is what actually matters. Bluesky has a long way to go before it’s appealing to most people, and its reputation as a hard-left echo chamber doesn’t help.

Wait what? … Free transit? There’s zero justification for that.

min I was there and driving up the Jolley cut, it was a mess. What happened to the accesses being top priority. 🤷‍♂️

Unless they’re rather new, all-seasons in this weather are essentially useless. Ottawa and east, you don’t see this.

Stopped at a friends spot at Young and John and the amount of vehicles sliding through the intersection was a joke. Btw, didn’t see one plow up or down John St South in the 45 (1)

It’s honestly astounding how many beat up 4-banger clunkers are crawling around downtown #HamOnt today. You just know those tires aren’t worth a dime nor safe. Winter tires need to be made mandatory in Ontario, and if your car is basically a snowplow in this weather, take the bus.

Congrats, and good on you for everything you accomplished in 2025. It’s fair to say you’ve had a more meaningful and positive impact on Ward 3 than the current and previous councillor combined. All in just one year.

All the best to you and your family in 2026. Keep it going. #HamOnt

Whatever happened to the storm we were so heavily warned about while I was home in Ottawa getting ready to head back? They made it sound like Armageddon was coming. 😭

3 months ago 0 0 1 0

Amazing what gets done when constituents step up where our lazy elected officials in lower #HamOnt won’t. They could drive that sucker around Wards 2 and 3 for a year and never run out of work.

Genuinely respect your work but there’s a serious caveat here. The vast majority of ones applauding this location live nowhere near this site. You know this. Take a pick Joey. Credible news or suck up to the far left loons. #HamOnt

When will the fringe anti-police crowd around the #HamOnt council horseshoe finally acknowledge that these encampments pose a real danger, not just to the unhoused, but to residents and their properties?

Imagine something like this along the brow? The damage would be potentially catastrophic.

No issue with expanding the transit network. That said, and what many fail to grasp, is that for a wide range of reasons, many people simply don’t have the option of using public transit or cycling to and from work, and that’s not going to change.

Bottom line, the roads desperately need fixing! 👍

💯 about Aberdeen. Have family on the street and that’s the #1 complaint. Coming off the 403 onto Main towards downtown is brutal, and it’s been that way for years. Far past time the city focuses on repaving (not patching) our main arteries. James South’s another one that’s brutal to drive. #HamOnt

Like most people I know and I imagine the majority, I’d much rather see our tax dollars go toward the badly needed repairs and upgrades to our crumbling road infrastructure. No matter which direction you drive into #HamOnt from, it’s a mess and long overdue.

Curious what the point is of surveying everyday, middle-income #HamOnt folks at, of all places, the municipal golf courses. Do these people have some unique train of thought to which others don’t? Why not outside of a grocery store?Pretty weird, man.
