Had the same letter myself, Tristan. I wouldn't worry about it too much. The press in question used to be an interesting, fairly radical outfit (though never as radical as they fancied themselves), but since they lost their AC grant they've gone downmarket. A bit of a busted flush these days, tbh.
Many thanks to Billy Mills for his elliptical review of mine and David Annwn's vispo mash-up of Gerald of Wales' 12thC A Journey Through Wales.

Beningborough Hall gardens earlier A cool walk to calm the fevered eye.
Into Harrogate hospital for an op to correct the double vision yesterday. Left eye cut & stitched and hopefully fixed, though Old Red Eyes, as The Beautiful South put it, will be around for a while. Big thanks to the marvellous team who oversaw it all - the NHS at its unprivatized, unleeched-on best
My thanks to Nick and Rupert for posting
The Ouse, from Lendal Bridge yesterday evening. #Yorkmood

'I see the boys of Sumer in their ruin', as Dylan Thomas almost said.
Very sad to hear about the death of brilliant Lorraine Cheshire. Here she is carrying one of the best scenes from a sitcom ever
Apologies, all, for the long Bluesky silence. But just to say I'm going to try harder to make this account work in future, by posting stuff and making it my main social media outlet. The others, you hardly need telling, are rotten with ads, promotions, and claptrap. More to follow, watch this space.
Thanks (belatedly!), Sarah-Clare!

Terrific impromptu Northern Lights / Inform experimental poetry on Friday evening in Leeds at the HEART Centre, Headingly. Loads of fine poets and a fun time was had by all. Big thanks to Kimberly Campanello for and Nasser Hussain for organising.
Stately, plump Mrs Dalloway ...
Terrific books, all beautifully produced.
A great book!
Or 'different gravy, same pie', as my brother more gastronomically put it to a camvasser at the last election. Totally agree: Labour seems to have reached the point of irreversible degeneration.

More than perhaps.
Yeah, one of my faves. The business about the Topic bar is pure genius.
Looking forward to taking part in this quite major poetry minifest on Friday week in Headingley. Big, big thanks to Kimberly Campanello for organising. See you there, Leeds and York friends!

Pics of my talk 'Dylan Thomas: the Life versus the Legend' to a sold out venue yesterday at York Literature Festival. Big thanks to the organisers for the opportunity to contribute, and to Vybarr Cregan Reid, Chloe Hanks and Phillipa of the Little Apple Bookshop for support on the night!
An evergreen Victorian railway catering joke from The Railway Station: a Social and Cultural History:
‘Are these sandwiches fresh?’
‘I don’t know sir, I’ve only worked here for two weeks’.
Labour could tax the super-rich to end poverty, build social housing and fix our NHS.
They are choosing to go after the worst-off instead.
For a while, many people didn’t know what this government stood for. They do now: tough choices for the poor, endless money for war.
