so I switched to rofi, that wasn't hard, but I still don't have options to pick from specific windows. I suspect it has something to do with the "environment variables and the dbus-activation-environment" that the blog post kinda just glosses over in the firefox screen sharing section.
LOL I shared this same article in a reply. Yeah I have slurp but I don’t think it lets me pick windows. I also have rofi, maybe configuring it to use that will work (if possible)
I know discord screen sharing (but not window sharing) works. Not sure about FF. I did find a blog post which suggests that the wlr portal might need some additional configuration, so even if it doesn’t work I don’t think all hope is lost: kidsan.dev/sway-screen-...
So weird, I have the wlr portal (and pipewire) and still can’t compel the window capture source to appear. I’ll have to look more into this.
Out of curiosity, does OBS on fedora, by default, come with:
- browser sources
- game capture sources
- window capture sources
On arch the first two have to be installed separately, and the third might not be available for me because of sway/wayland, but I’m not sure.
