Same. We never called these things "AI" before, it was always just "tool" or "software" or "plugin" depending on the program. Now everything is being called "AI" like some kinda trend among companies. Years ago, if you called a tool "AI" people would just laugh and say you were larping Iron Man.

Square Enix specifically loooooves anything with the term "AI" in it so it's definitely not surprising coming from them. Whatever gets them that investor money and trending on social media. 🙄

I don't know why companies think adding "AI" to the name of something makes it sound appealing. And accounts like Dexerto will eat up anything that gets them clicks. Using "AI" just sounds better to them than. We used to not even call these things "AI" before, but after 2020 suddenly everything is.

I'm genuinely shocked a tool like this didn't exist already for editors, actually. Clip Studio Paint even has dozens of auto-actions to eliminate the monotonous parts of workflow. To me, this is the same thing? And they explicitly stated that editors still manually adjust the end design.

Wait, educate me: Why does everyone hate this??? This isn't evil GenAI, this is a tool they're developing for editors to use. To me this feels exactly like using the auto-fill color guide tools in CSP that use reference layers so that filling in the lineart is more efficient. So, isn't this good???
