When I've gone to PT in the past, they always have done heat pre-activity and cold after. I think it helps with inflammation?

I usually do better with ice.

You know it is @wamu.org pledge drive time when you dream about taking your eye glasses in to get adjusted and they request you pay via a monthly, recurring donation so they can continue to bring you local news. 🙃

Friday news dump alert! For just $1.65 million per day National Guard from 15 states fight crime in DC by hiking in Rock Creek Park! And next week the House votes to spend $2.4BILLION to keep them here until the 2028 election so they can help prevent a transfer of power. “Safe and beautiful!”

Came out of the post office, saw that a guy had cut my saddle bag off my bike and was about to take off with it. I yelled "Please wait my cat's medicine is in there!" He started to run, and this grandma-age lady goes "SHE SAID HER CAT'S MEDICINE IS IN THERE" and WALLOPED him with her grocery bag.

We had no accumulation in SW either. I suspect Arlington jumped the gun on closing instead of just a delay.

Since the schools around my office are closed, I am giving myself permission to WFH.

We have only trace amounts in SW 😔

I was just trying to remember this AM if my council member uses the platform because I should make a donation but I appear to have blocked all the numbers and don't want to trigger all the begging again.

Ugh, that's rough. Annie gets daily pills and the only way it works is she gets one churu after, and that is the only time she gets one. I also sing a song in excited voice. I have been the pied piper of cat pills with 2 out of 3 of my pill taking cats.

ICE and assorted fed agents *continue* to traumatize and kidnap our neighbors. National Guard troops *still* occupy DC at the cost of $1M+/day. Repubs voted to control our tax law, further disenfranchising and harming DC residents. Where is the outrage and solidarity across the country?! #FreeDC

Hitting Mr. "But I saw a drug deal on the lot" Developer with a reminder about the vacant property tax rate at the beginning of the discussion was beautiful.

Hey #BikeDC, as of 9pm there's a water main break or something on the MBT behind City State, basically converting the trail to a stream. Not passable. I called @dcwater.bsky.social to report it, but I had to tell them the trail is DDOT, not DPR. Who else do I loop in to get this elevated?

My local public radio station annoys the crap out of me by playing music under people talking. My brain will only pay attention to one (the music). They just did it under a guest that was talking and the guest just stopped mid sentence and asked "is there music playing?!" And I cackled out loud.

I had to go to both markets to pick up what I needed. Definitely sparse on vendors and shoppers, but people seemed to be in good enough spirits.

Tomorrow's are, but Courthouse is still on and it looks like Falls Church is too. How many vendors show up might be a different story. I will find out soon!

A dark green knit garter stitch shawl is pinned out on some blocking mats. It is almost triangular except the short end is flat across, never coming to a point. It is almost 7 feet wide on its long edge. The yarn is a 50/50 blend of wool and alpaca.

This is hopefully getting delivered to my step-mom today. 910 yards of wool/alpaca garter stitch!

I am about to head to the farmers market. I have a heavy wool base layer under jeans and my heaviest hand knit sweater and wool socks. With more wool to come - coat, scarf, Mittens, hat- I suspect I will still be cold. I might use the car seat warmer at its highest setting today.
