Ahh, sorry I've not been posting here!
I'll be off to ToyCon Ph in Manila next week and I've had me head down painting a new set of figures. Here's a little sampler;-

@herring1967.bsky.social This weeks RHLSTP with Nick Helm was absolutely lovely to listen to. Cheers!

Don't you love it when your brain gives you that "I should stop messing around and get some work done" jolt, then you realise that you have been working, and just lost in flow that whole time?

Yes and yes! What a sculpt that was, for me that set a kind of standard with toys.

Oh yeah, they were different!

It is! It's an original sculpt, and quite massive!

Huck Gee's Babt Mama 8" Qee was definitely in the first few I got. MuttPop's El Panda as well - that figure was perfect!

Here's the front view of the Minotaur. Entirely sculpted by hand, which I think gives it that beautiful organic kinetic energy that a lot of digitally sculpted figures lack (at least to me!)

Slightly bizarrely, it was this figure. The packaging is gorgeous, it really makes the piece a full piece of display art. It kind of acts like a decorated light box.

Here's a big step forward. You can Apoxie Sculpt over foam clay, which bulks out the basic form from the wood and wire macquette. (These photos were taken months apart).

Really basic and messy wood and wire base. Just looking out the rough form to build the sculpt upon.

Ahh, thanks very much!

Why is it that when you have urgent deadlines to meet, you suddenly get inspired with so many more ideas for other projects?

Here's the piece I'm working on today. This is my own Venus sculpt (cast in resin by GhostRabbitSociety). I'm just blocking in the colour on her tattoos before I get to the outlines.

Ernie and Roscoe demanded they come up and 'help me' whilst I was painting. 5 minutes of licks later they'd had enough and were back to guarding the stairs.

Drawing up a new skate deck ready to be painted - The White Whale. This is a theme I've returned to time and time again. It's inspired by Moby Dick, but there's also something so mysterious and terrifying about these goliath animals.

Here's a recent piece of my art; sculpted and painted by myself.
"Tigris & the Serpent".
Thanks!
