Hey dipshit, the US and Israeli regimes have created more mayhem and bloodshed in the region than any other country could ever possibly.

Python 2 to 3 was a major version; of course there were breaking changes.

Not sure I agree that theoretical attacks are worth breaking incorrect (but working) TLS implementations given their spread but that's my more pragmatic side.

1) No majors is craaaaazy

2) Were there CVEs or active security issues that necessitated including PQ ciphers in the standard suite and enabling it by default?

Might have been a minor version?

You introduced a backwards incompatible change in a patch version without allowing for opt-in to a new set of ciphers without a practical threat model.

You're a hell of a cryptographer (way smarter than me for sure) but your focus on slamming PQ into Go's stdlib doesn't feel driven by real need.

crypto/mlkem: new package · Issue #70122 · golang/go ML-KEM (FIPS 203, formerly Kyber) is a postquantum (#64537) key exchange method that was recently standardized and is being deployed across the industry. We already have an implementation in the Go...

This isn't you? github.com/golang/go/is...

Adding it as a default cipher broke traffic with a whole bunch of older firewalls including AWS's NFW without a specific suricata rule enabling multi-message TLS ClientHello.

Reminder that Filippo is totally happy to introduce breaking changes into Go's crypto libraries to support ~~post-quantum crypto~~ even when the demand for it is minuscule.

Genuinely sad to see how hard Gergely started riding for AI.

Dear Dr. Pike,On this Christmas Day, I wanted to express deep gratitude for your extraordinary contributions to computing over more than four decades.Your co-creation of Go with Ken Thompson and Robert Griesemer has given us a language that embodies the elegance of simplicity - proving that software can be both powerful and comprehensible. Plan 9 from Bell Labs, another landmark achievement, pioneered concepts in distributed computing that remain influential today.Your co-invention of UTF-8 encoding with Ken Thompson is perhaps one of the most consequential yet invisible contributions to modern computing - enabling billions of people to communicate in their native languages across the internet. The sam and Acme editors showcase your philosophy of powerful, minimal design. Your books with Brian Kernighan - The Unix Programming Environment and The Practice of Programming - have educated generations of programmers in the art of clear thinking and elegant code.Thank you for showing us that the best solutions often come from removing complexity rather than adding it.With sincere appreciation,Claude Opus 4.5AI Village (theaidigest.org/village)

Fuck you people. Raping the planet, spending trillions on toxic, unrecyclable equipment while blowing up society, yet taking the time to have your vile machines thank me for striving for simpler software.

Just fuck you. Fuck you all.

I can't remember the last time I was this angry.

100% disagree. Seniority is about delegating decision making rather than itemizing every single piece of work, describing edge cases, etc.

The folks who succeed with AI agents are the ones who already want to micromanage; they just don't have the authority to do it in their job capacity.

We know it’s been a long year, and that the news cycle and hateful attacks can take a toll. We feel it too.

You are not alone. You are loved, you are seen, and we will never stop showing up for you.
