Please join us and help make history at the Gorton and Denton by-election! 💚. We have a brilliant candidate, Hannah Spencer, we have momentum and we have a vital message - that the politics of hope *can* win over the politics of hate.
We can win this! @mcrgreenparty.bsky.social @greenparty.org.uk

A graphic showing an image of people carrying banners who joined the previous Unity rally In Exeter. One banner reads: "We are your neighbours". The statement reads: On Saturday, Exeter will again unite against those who seek to divide us. We say no to racism, yes to celebrating diversity. We support the right to freedom of expression and speech. We condemn the few who use this as a means to incite hatred. Exeter has been shaped by those born here and who have moved here. Many are linked by family, history or love to other parts of the world. We stand in solidarity to protect the right to be free from discrimination and coexist safely and with dignity.
A statement from Exeter Green Party as a further march by the far-right is planned this weekend, along with a counter rally beginning at 11am in Bedford Square, Exeter city centre.
A graphic showing four photos from the Exeter is for Everyone celebration in the city centre on Saturday 25th October to counter a far right march. The quadrants are divided by the St George flag. The photos show people holding placards saying: "Make racism wrong again" and "Choose Love."
This is Exeter.
Today and everyday.
British.
Exciting!
A graphic which reads: We stand in solidarity. Exeter Green Party stands in solidarity with all people who are using their right to seek asylum, who may have fled violence and persecution and experienced unimaginable trauma. Exeter is a City of Sanctuary. We also stand in solidarity with all people, groups and communities who may feel unsafe or unwelcome as a result of recent rallies and protests held across the UK.
Following recent ‘freedom of speech’ rallies, protests and the increase of anti-migrant rhetoric, together with protests outside hotels in Devon housing people seeking asylum, Exeter Green Party has issued a statement of solidarity with those seeking asylum.
Huge congratulations to @zackpolanski.bsky.social this morning for stepping so decisively into the space the Labour Party has almost completely abandoned, where British voters *should* be offered a genuinely progressive alternative to conservative rule. More power to you in the years ahead Zack!
If the Chancellor wants to reform Inheritance Tax, she could start by reforming this 'heritage asset' tax loophole being exploited by grouse moors and wealthy landowners, which I investigated last year: www.theguardian.com/money/2024/o...
Negotiators in Geneva have two days left to produce the world’s first legally binding plastics pollution treaty. They’re facing problems that look familiar to anyone who has been to a climate COP: on.ft.com/4mH9tds
Let's call on the UN to ban fossil fuel lobbyists from the Global Plastics Treaty negotiations. Companies like Shell make billions turning oil and gas into plastic - so they’re trying to sabotage the talks to protect their profits.
I'm with the Greens and excited to vote for @zackpolanski.bsky.social - a powerful and skilled voice for nature and human nature!
⏳Final week to sign up to the Green Party.
🗳️ Vote for Bold Leadership on August 1st.
A study of 113 low traffic zones in London shows the huge positive difference they can make.
🏘️ 600+ road injuries and 100 deaths prevented.
🛣️ No observable change in casualties or traffic levels in bordering roads.
💚We need #Exeter and other towns & cities to benefit from safer streets too.
BREAKING: German court paves way for accountability for global climate harms
In a groundbreaking ruling the court confirmed corporate GHG emitters can no longer hide behind borders, politics, or scale to escape responsibility.

A graphic with an inlaid photo of campaigners on Dartmoor overlaid with text "The Right to Wild Camp on Dartmoor has been upheld. Now we extend that right." On the right of the graphic is a thumbnail image of Green councillor in Heavitree Catherine Rees and a quote: "I hope this is a turning point and the government now passes a Right to Roam Act, to protect and extend public rights of responsible access to nature across England."
🥳A win for all those who want to wild camp on #Dartmoor and those who support the right to do so.
Wonderful news!
We have tripled the number of Green County Councillors in Devon ... congratulations to all 💚
Pagans have a strong connection to the natural world and see it as sacred, also believing in the interconnectedness of all things ... the opposite of Trump. I would agree however that living in Trump's world is exhausting; it feels psychologically unsafe. We do indeed need to feed our souls.
An image of Green Party councillors, candidates and campaigners holding up posters reading "I'm voting Green." Emblazoned across the top of the image is: Greens on course to win more seats than Labour in Devon.
Today we welcome @zackpolanski.bsky.social deputy leader of the Green Party to #Exeter
He'll find us in buoyant mood. After the local elections on Thursday we expect to have more Devon County councillors than ever before and more than Labour.

A graphic showing sewage spilling into a river with the text: Take South West Water into public ownership.
✋Let's stop rewarding South West Water for failure.
🚽It's time to flush this failed experiment with privatisation down the drain.
💩With its disgusting record on sewage spills and eye-watering bills this water company should be front of the queue for nationalisation.
"I know there are many trans and non-binary people who will be feeling deeply worried today, caught in the midst of a media storm as they try to simply live their lives. To those people, I say: please know that I stand with you - today, tomorrow and always. The Green Party continues to support a policy of self-ID to allow trans people to live full lives free from harassment in the gender they know themselves to be. The judge emphasised in his speech that trans people are still protected under the law, but it is for government to now demonstrate how this will be achieved. I will work closely with human rights and LGBTIQA+ groups to understand the consequences of this ruling, and will not hesitate to press for changes in legislation if it is needed to protect the human rights of all.” - Carla Denyer MP, Green Party Co-leader - MP Bristol Central

My statement in response to the Supreme Court ruling today:
How is this possible in the UK? Truly shocking.

A gobsmacking story. Water companies let toxic waste disposers, for cash, dump their loads into sewage farms. The sewage sludge is then spread, untested, on farmland, potentially poisoning vast areas, entire ecosystems and the people (you and me) eating the food.

💚 Delighted to welcome Green peer @greenjennyjones.bsky.social to #Exeter on #InternationalWomensDay
🏞 She's told us about her work on river pollution & many other areas.
