In the end, Starmer’s in this mess because his overall approach to Trump was to be a suck-up.

If Trump appeasement doesn’t ruin a political career, Brexit redlines will.
I’ve switched #r4today off. I’ll switch back on when they put the same effort into reporting tax avoidance, benefits of immigration, climate change, as they do to supporting Reform agenda, stop repeating the non tax paying Daily Mail stories. Fed up of the punching down. Too difficult to punch up?
I’m bucking the trend. I’m paying but my engagement is diminishing, since so much of their news is tabloid headline oriented and they trashed BBC4, which used to show great history, art and science programmes. Now 1970s sitcoms and quiz shows.
Kemi “Shoot the Archer” Badenoch. That Kemi Badenoch?
There is not a primary school teacher in the world who could turn this child around.
Trump has turned war, diplomacy, and the presidency itself into a grotesque spectacle of ignorance, sadism, and self-worship.
Who needs a 'partner' who cannot be trusted & who behaves like a stroppy teenager who can't get his own way?

Makes one hanker after the days when the UK’s trade deal with it’s main trading partner, the rest of the EU, was protected in law. So much security for U.K. trade to plan with, to the largest market in the world.
👩🏻🦰 “If you were Mr Poilievre, would you quit today?”
🧠🇨🇦 “That’s an unfair question.”
👩🏻🦰 “Pierre Poilievre called you badly educated in economics.”
🧠🇨🇦 “Can I take back my previous answer?”
Prime Minister Mark Carney, you are the GOAT. 😅🤣😂

How about removing all the inherited wealth and income from Royal titles and put them on a salary for Head of State and assistant flunkies. CofE could cover costs of religious role.
Unexpectedly, they are on their way.
They’re on their way. Very unexpected.
Theresa May pointed this out when she was guest editor last December. She made the point that trying for “Gotcha” moments does not necessarily help inform the listener on the topic being discussed.
Did you hear him with the SNP interview the other day? I am not a supporter of Scottish Independence, but found his interview awful
How about a piece on the benefits of immigration? Here we are at a hospital with staff who have come to the U.K. to help ensure our health service is functional. Or care home or hotel/restaurant or your internet order delivery driver. Or university, paying to ensure it’s survival.
I find that although 10yrs have passed since immigration was used falsely in the Ref. many people still are unable to differentiate between the various types of immigration, with their differences. That is a failure of the BBC, who continue down the tabloid preferred path of over simplification
Robinson, how many times, using o&g from the North Sea won't help. It's sold on the open market.
#r4today
But that’s not what the Daily Mail say. That’s where Robinson does his research.
Pleased I turned off when they started rattling on about asylum seekers. #r4today
I think they all deserve each other. The people of the U.K. would be better off without the subservience to the monarchy, bended knee to the US. Time to grow up, accept responsibility and work as equals with our European neighbours.
Is it an example of 'cancel culture' when presenters of #r4today ignore the long-term effects of austerity presumably because they haven't experienced them?
Just turned off #r4today. It’s just Daily Mail radio.
“King and Queen will not meet Epstein survivors during US state visit.” Just the perpetrators…

The country is ready to #Rejoin the EU
“Starmer’s #Brexit reset is inherently limited, confined to his self-enforced red lines..
The risk for him is that his approach is too much of a compromise, alienating Eurosceptics while failing to do enough to win over Europhiles.”

We keep hearing that "Proportional Representation would risk giving power to extremists", so let's make it clear:
Under FPTP, an extremist party could win a supermajority on a small minority of the vote.
Under PR, that's impossible.
We know what's safer.
Did she mention the 12 type 45 destroyers order that the Tories reduced to 8, then built only 6? More likely blamed Starmer that we didn’t have one to rush to the Eastern Med.
“Cut the welfare budget”. Any exploration into the effects of that? I guess that goes into the waste bin that climate change and tax evasion investigations reside in #r4today
Trump depicts himself as Jesus.
Trump claims the depiction was a doctor
Trump is crucified for claiming depiction was a doctor
That’s not how I remember the story
Frictionless access to the EU has gone. The UK voted to be outside the EU border after advocating for these changes whilst a member. Normal border checks now in place with more to come.
