Then, finally, after travelling by air so he can get a better view, LWJ's long, scaly white body touches down just outside of a town gate. The guards wave him through as he keeps his antlers and tail in his human form,

After three years of tireless searching, LWJ hears rumours amongst the demi-beasts and other magical beings that there is a secret safe haven to the west that is basically a town but for beasts, not humans. That it's run by a

powerful. He takes his human form and begins his search for WWX, wondering where he is and what he is. He has to mask his magical aura in human towns, as his power would cause mass panic. He navigates through many villages and towns, his Guide searching through people, looking for souls that have

them into his little refuge. And then he realises he's reunited with his almost-brother and his almost-son. There's a lot of crying, and A-Yuan only vaguely remembers his Xian-gege but his Guide helps him recall his almost-dad.

And finally, LWJ emerges after 100 years of absorbing magic and growing

so both WWX's fox-parents can help him with building. Papa Fox is very proud of his son, and when he travels to a human settlement, he always brings back books and tools, to help him build shelters and plan.

So when WN and his phoenixes arrive in the forest, WWX immediately sets to work integrating

creating a community with help from his father and mother. At some point over the years, Mama Fox gains a third tail, allowing her a semi-human form (she still has paws instead of feet, fur climbs up her legs and arms, and her nails are clawed, as well as some other fox traits beyond ears and tails)

die in a similar way, and three are taken and locked in magical cages. WN kills four of the poachers to protect his family, and he leads the group of phoenixes to a new place, deep within an uninhabited forest.

Which is where WWX, with five tails, is, already helping other magical beings and

Phoenix, with his human form, his Guide tells him A-Yuan is nearby, and they meet again, living together happily for many years, until humans come and start catching their family. A-Yuan's mother is killed, and the coal-like egg that would allow her to be reborn is taken.

in his heart, having sisters to grow up alongside is reassuring and helps him get used to this world. He learns how to heal, how to fly and fight and transform into a human, how to avoid poachers who want their feathers and tears and their song.

And, by the time he has evolved into a Greater

WN is also a Phoenix, though he is a rare, black phoenix. He grows up in a clutch of four, with three sisters. Though they cannot replace WQ

WWX, and later A-Yuan. There is some time fuckery that goes on though, as LWJ is transmigrated to a time *before* WWX, even though he died after!

Little A-Yuan has the easiest time adjusting to the new world, his Guide is gentle with him, and he loves his new form. As a little Phoenix chick, he

dragon with immense power and potential. He has to grow in power and strength to gain human form, and hatches alone, a tiny white snake of a thing, within a cave behind a waterfall. Dense magic fills the air, and LWJ gets to cultivating while his own guide teaches him how to become humanoid and find

him helps a lot. Occasionally he meets his father, who has four tails and can take human form for short periods of time. He brings WWX and his fox mother food, protects their territory and is a source of news about the world outside the den and the forest.
