I’ve noticed an interesting difference between driving and biking.
When you are driving, you can’t wait to stop. Always looking for faster routes, shortcuts and ways to get out of your car quicker.
On a bike it’s exactly the opposite. We often find ourselves taking the long route just for fun.

Just spent the day at Dunsany Castle to see the rewilding project and it is gorgeous. Two beautiful kites circling above.
What did a changing climate look like in Ireland in 2025?
The Council’s report highlights a year marked by record wind, dry spells, drought pressure and heavy rainfall.

Love these stories. Such cool and useful ideas. Genuinely wish I had more innovation/engineering skills.

Obviously I went to browse in @chaptersbookstore.bsky.social NOT needing any more books in my house 🤷♀️ But I really really love the @dublincityoflit.bsky.social One Dublin One Book initiative and once you start it's impossible to stop at one...
May need some German books to intersperse though.
Feeling very lucky that I get to enjoy mini starling murmurations above my house every evening before they all drop into a neighbour's tree!
Government must prioritise sustainable transport in any emergency relief funding
The solution to the rising cost of oil will never be tax reduction. It’s better cycling infrastructure, more frequent & reliable public transport and Work from Home measures

Yes, and maybe a German thing? My dad still proudly keeps a guest book for visitors to the house and we all have 'Poesiealbums' where, as kids, we got our friends to write us poems & messages. Hope you enjoyed Berlin & Leipzig.

I’d regime change the lot.
Wow. If only Irish politicians would make a speech like this.
From Connolly and Pearse to the hunger strikers and Mary Robinson. Amazing.

A few of us from Dublin Friends of the Earth (alongside amazing Fridays for Future regulars) protesting against the government further abdicating its climate obligations with the Private Wires Bill.
Very grateful for the magnolia in my garden this time of year.

Submitted comments now. Can't wait to see College Green pedestrianised and greened and cycle there for a coffee!!!
Excellent! So let's build those lanes quickly and aim for another big % increase!!!! 🚲🚴🚲
A picture of a woman standing next to steel bollards of children in blue and black school clothing
Are these steel bollards of children creepy, yes.
Are they doing their job, also yes.
As always. The children are the front line in pedestrianized safety.
I am so angry at the current billionnaires and ultra-rich that this was a nice antidote to read. My first job was with an NGO supported by Atlantic Philanthropies. That funding made a real difference. And nice to know he is laid to rest nearby in Glasnevin.

Most fruit in Ireland is sad. Even just coming back from Germany after summer hols I always fall into fruit-related depression.
Oh crap. Pardon my French.
Enjoyed filling this in - since it asks about things I care about, like greening the city, and arts, and how I feel about cycling here! 🌳🎭🚴
