Hot take: AI’s biggest danger to jobs is actually not because it will be able to replace people, but because companies need to find budget from somewhere to throw in the giant money pit that is “pivoting to AI” and salaries are it

It's only a week till @clashbooks.bsky.social release COME SING FOR THE HARROWING, and I'll be going on a virtual tour to celebrate the release. From publication day (21st), I'll be discussing the book, folk-horror as a genre, and even perform a reading of one of the stories. Come join the choir.
For those who may have missed this earlier in the day-
Top marks for Chesney, as well.
Looking brilliant, fella.
Hope lots of work comes your way.
Oh, no, sorry to hear this.
3 years into this stuff and still no normal person could answer the question “what’s your favourite piece of AI art?”
SCUTTLER’S COVE by David Barnett. Cover features a red crab on a black background
Just a nod and a wink to @britfantasysoc.bsky.social members… voting is open for the British Fantasy Awards and SCUTTLER’S COVE is eligible in the horror novel category (WITHERED HILL was shortlisted last year). 🦀 🦀 🕷️ 🕷️ 🍎 🍏 🌳 🌊 🌊 🌳 🍏 🦀 🕷️
Ha, now why doesn’t that shock me.
I don't want to wait 6 months for the next part. I can't wait to go back to Withered Hill.
What's more annoying is Amazon will have discontinued my Kindle model by then so I won't be able to get this alongside my other digital books in the series

It’s not a visualised podcast, it’s a TV show.
All the sequels are mushed up together in my head.

I could live without it.

I’d quite forgotten about LONDON’S DARK by James Robinson and Paul Johnson (Escape/Titan 1989) until I found my old copy. An important entry in the late 80s UK comic canon, I feel.
Hi Paul, that’s publication order; the first three are essentially standalones and can be read in any order but Twisted Pike is best read with some knowledge of Withered Hill at least, preferably all three.
You visited Withered Hill.
You left with questions.
Twisted Pike is where you get answers.
Coming October 1st.

Must have read that Frankenstein’s monster story a thousand times.
