IMHO all of 4th street NE between T street and Michigan should be converted to curbside protected bike lanes, but this is a great down payment (along with a bunch of other sensible improvements for all users in this corner of Edgewood).

Would love to read the DC version of the “cities are great for retirees” trend piece. These only lightly touch on transit but some great quotes on cities as havens for senior non-drivers.

Push poll question about CM McDuffie’s support of a $215 million no bid emergency contract for sports gambling
Never been better prepared to answer a poll question
The rare mid-ride bar mitts removal. Happy bar mitt removal day to all who celebrate.
Is now a good time to talk about auto violence?
“The Chestons are not yet ready to announce the location of their restaurant, but we have a feeling the residents of Brookland will hoist a pint in the near future.” 🤓
Closer to Brookland…
Pint?
Haha I was like I appreciate this guy not taking the Olympics or sports too seriously.
“Toddler dead after pedestrian collision” is some nasty headline work
A person driving a jeep hit and killed a toddler in a stroller in a marked crossing and they are calling it a “pedestrian collision”
Why is an 80 year old woman driving an enormous SUV?
Why does the SUV allow her to go 70 mph in a residential area?
Why are humans unprotected from such obvious threats at a bus stop?
Why does the law do nothing?
This is not freedom but Hobbesian state of nature but with enormous speeding weapons.
Every aspect of this story is an indictment of the social, economic, and legal structures of our country.
An 80 year old woman drives an SUV into a family of 4 waiting at a bus stop, avoids criminal justice, and hides assets to avoid civil penalties.
We do not have equal protection under the law
Proud to be a @51st.news and @thebaltimorebanner.com subscriber. Let this be the first step to merging our fine DC-Baltimore megalopolis with 24 hour trains and bike superhighways
So this is just a list of places in Brookland 🤯

Water main break by Mess hall
Can anyone
@dcwater.bsky.social @ddotdc.bsky.social @mayorbowser.dc.gov @cmzparker5.bsky.social @wmatagm.bsky.social assist?
Hey #BikeDC, as of 9pm there's a water main break or something on the MBT behind City State, basically converting the trail to a stream. Not passable. I called @dcwater.bsky.social to report it, but I had to tell them the trail is DDOT, not DPR. Who else do I loop in to get this elevated?
Hear me out: snowcrete-protected bike lanes
Can put speed cameras or can just take one lane
