The DOJ was created to increase the capacity for federal prosecutions during Reconstruction esp. those to be brought under the newly enacted KuKlux Klan Act.

Now the DOJ is being used to prosecute a storied civil rights organization whose central mission has been to expose & dismantle the Klan.

So the US plans to blockade …Iran’s blockade? One-upping the blockade that’s already in place? Creating more opportunities for escalation? Make it make sense.

Victor Orbán’s removal sends a timely signal.

Corrupt kleptocratic Christian nationalism was on the ballot in Hungary today — just as it will be on the ballots that Americans will cast in November.

It was repudiated abroad — may it be repudiated here in November (and beyond).

I don't think my working title "Impeachment Today, Impeachment Tomorrow, Impeachment Forever" is going to make it through editing.

Also, it's good to have editors.

The world not screeching to a halt when the US killed more than 100 little school girls on the very first day of this "liberating war" led us exactly to this moment

I haven’t yet seen the segment & I realize that people in his position could likely do more. But he has been quite supportive of Black & Brown folks over the years.

Our Power Is Organized People Creating a movement across generations, races, and faiths in Minnesota.

A discussion about why Minnesota was so ready to reject ICE/CBP:

"Number one is the rigorous focus on agency-oriented organizing practice, a north star of building multiracial, democratic governing power. We have a majoritarian orientation — we want progressive and popular power."

Minneapolis ICE watchers face violence, teargas and arrests. They keep showing up Bystanders say they are determined to keep recording federal agents’ actions: ‘There will be absolutely no accountability unless people are documenting’

“Agents have been using…so-called ‘less lethal’ weapons such as chemical irritants & projectiles against onlookers…” IOW, torture for exercising 1st Amendment rights.

My birthmom, who died in 2016, visited me in a dream last night. She & I flew in an invisible vehicle over lake & woodland to attend a meditation group I facilitate. We were a bit worried about the wind blowing dirt thru our hair, but it felt good.

A note from the parents of Alex Pretti: “… Alex was a kindhearted soul … his last act was to protect a woman… Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump’s murdering & cowardly ICE thugs. He had his phone in his right hand & his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down, all while being pepper sprayed. Please get out the truth about our son. He was a good man.”

He was doing what many have been saying white men should be doing. He went outside to observe, he documented, he put his body on the line to protect another person and for this he was murdered by the gatekeepers of the fascist regime.

“Everybody Showed Up”: Stunning Crowds at Minnesota Day of Strike and Shutdown Against ICE Extreme cold didn't stop the shutdown on Friday as some 100 faith leaders were arrested, residents stayed home from work, and an estimated 50,000 or more marched through downtown Minneapolis.

“The crowd — including striking workers and union members, some of whom work at the airport — stayed outside in the subzero temperatures to cheer on the civil disobedience. Supporters passed around hand warmers and snacks to help sustain the crowd.”
