Jewish communities are living in fear amid rising antisemitism, including these appalling arson attacks. We must confront this.
At the same time, antisemitism is being weaponised to shut down criticism of the Israeli government.
Both are true. Both deeply concerning. Both Antisemitic.

Karim said, "I would like to see a peace in the world specially in the Middle East. And no war anywhere. Hopefully one day we will live in peace."
The Green Party also supports lowering bills through cheap, safe and clean energy from wind and solar power.
The illegal US-Israel war on Iran has killed thousands of innocent people already, including over 170 school girls.
Green MPs say the UK should end its military involvement, stop selling weapons to Israel and pursue justice for victims of war crimes.
Green Councillor Jo Bird is talking to Karim on the street in Birkenhead.
Greens say no more wars for oil and gas 🛢️
It was an honour to talk with Karim on Oxton Road, Birkenhead. Due to the war, he hasn’t been able to speak with his parents in Iran for more than a month.

Thousands of people who live in Birkenhead are being charged TRIPLE Council Tax by Wirral's Labour-led Council.
Council Tax bills for the lowest income households have gone up by £555 per year!
This Labour MP's non-answer is another reason why Greens are seeking to replace Labour asap.

Jo Bird says, “I’m delighted the city region is listening to our demands for a publicly owned Merseyrail that works for the benefit of everyone on Merseyside, not just wealthy shareholders.”
That money should be used to improve services and lower fares for customers. The current arrangement expires in 2028. Along with trade unions, we want a fully publicly owned Merseyrail. Now the Liverpool City Region is saying public ownership can improve services for passengers.
Jo Bird, Wirral Green Councillor is standing in a local train station holding a huge train ticket with "Your route from private profit to fairer, greener trains. Return our Merseyrail." written on it. Merseyrail train in the background.
Merseyrail on track for return 🚉
Green Party calls to bring Merseyrail back into public ownership are paying off. The current rip-off arrangement means that up to £1.50 for every passenger journey is paid out in dividends to shareholders.
Zack is a great Jewish leader of a major political party. That we can make much more major by uniting.
And Zack, in interview after interview, has nailed the antisemitism smear. He's nailed conflating Israel with pro-Palestinian protest, partly because he's Jewish but also because he speaks so well. He's done it over and over again and we're not gonna get a better opportunity than this.
The whole infrastructure that was set up after the Holocaust so it couldn't happen again. It's going. And we all know this. We've all been on the protests. I cry about it because it's just horrendous what's happening there.
It's about our children, our grandchildren and it's also about Palestinians. Its about this global turning point where we're at, where, you know, human rights are getting destroyed before our eyes.
Focus on stop selling arms to Israel
Our political activity - it's not only about us and our local experience or personal experience - it's about our future.

"I think the nuance needs to happen and that's exactly why I've been talking about it. If we're talking about what's happening right now I think that's the important conversation."
"When we had Bundists for instance who described themselves as non Zionist but socialist. There are also Zionists who believed in the homeland but didn't believe it should be in the Palestinian state. And so I am reluctant to use a word that has so many descriptions and say that it's racist."
"I also think, and this is where it gets very complex and nuanced, and I think the conversation about definitions is unhelpful, but I'm still happy to have the conversation. There were Jewish people or Zionists at that time that, I would say, weren't racist."
"I also think the beginnings of Zionism had lots of racial undertones. Particularly the Nakba. The Nakba - the displacement of the Palestinians from their homeland. [...]"
"I don't think the idea of a Jewish state is necessarily racist. What I think is happening though right now is a certain type of Zionism by Benjamin Netanyahu that I've said I believe is genocidal so it's clearly racist."
"There was also polling out in the last couple of months that showed increasingly British Jews are now voting for the Green Party, and indeed Reform. So I think the kind of mainstream discourse where this is at, is often wrong. But let me take it on anyway."
Zack Polanski in an interview with Nick Robinson
"[... ] I think for lots of Jewish people Zionism means a lot of different things. And of course for the non Jewish community too, but let's talk about the Jewish community."
The Greens asked how those “who will inevitably experience financial shock” would be supported. Cllr Pat Cleary said, “We are getting under the skin because we are speaking to the real experiences of people out there who are struggling with poverty”.

Bromborough Green councillor Ruth Molyneux raised concerns about the scheme, arguing the public are “still unaware of the horror story about to come forward”. She questioned whether proper assessments were carried out ahead of the decision.

The Green Party is opposed to this cut [to Council Tax support], suggesting borrowing the money from the UK Government instead.
At the Budget, the Green Party's message is clear: Cut Bills. Tax Billionaires.
This is horrific. Not just the awful violence in Manchester but the fear this attack creates for Jewish people across the UK as they mark Yom Kippur. My solidarity and love to everyone affected.
Friends, lets hear it for the organisers of this important protest to restore our NHS.
I’m one of over 850 Green councillors and growing.
We know that things like good housing, good food, clean air and the real living wage are all contributing factors to healthy outcomes
It will send a very important message if these libraries stay open and these libraries stay open and they’re run by the council. Thank you for your time and I hope I haven’t gone on too much.
