On tyranny Aristotle and Plato’s words
I’m reading On Tyranny this morning. The connection is clear. Aristotle and Plato weren’t predicting the future. They were describing what they’d already watched happen.
Ancient philosophy came out of real situations people had to navigate. We’re witnessing it today. #Stoicism #StoicSisterhood

I rarely have flight envy but this gave it to me in spades.
Today I got over 200 ❤️s on my Wood Duck photo. That’s the most ever for any #photo I’ve posted online. 🥹 Thank you for your kindness and encouraging words. #Birder are the best! Photo: Red-shouldered Hawk a few years ago in Morro Bay, CA.

A convicted felon as President of the United States talking about removing criminals is the very definition of hypocrisy.
DOJ demanded voter files from all 50 states.
DOJ sued 31 states for refusing their demand.
My law firm intervened to protect voters in those cases.
DOJ is now 0-5.
My firm is 5-0.
Lesson: When we fight we win.
When it was new I listened to it twice a day for a year. Still listen often. Every note, riff, harmony, word, beat is "woven indelibly into my heart and my brain," to quote another Simon song
Anemone (2025). I'm so glad I saw it but I can't watch it again: indescribably intense
What's a movie that's SO good, you can't watch it again?
I'll go first.
Everything, Everywhere, All At Once (2022) was so good that I don't wanna rewatch. I don't want any of my thoughts about it to change.

Water with soft waves with sunlight hitting it
I've been feeling very negative lately, so I want to better with documenting positive thoughts and sharing some of my favorite things every day in April.
Day 1 is when the sun hits water and it looks all✨ sparkly ✨
Digital painting of a red trillium, a striking bloom with three large burgundy red heart-shaped petals with three pointed green leaves behind. The center of the flower has creamy yellow fluffy bits (stamen or pistils? not sure of the correct terminology). The background is a blurred green and gray suggesting other plant life behind.
Day 2 of #DrawAFlowerADay... I haven't drawn much for the past few months so I'm easing back into it with flowers with simple, graphic shapes. Here's a red trillium from a beautiful reference photo provided by @g-lau.bsky.social

Trump said he sent ICE to airports to go after Somalis and other nonwhite people.
Some of his allies explained it's because ICE in airports will upset Democrats.
Video shows ICE standing around, harassing, or arresting people.
Why is anyone covering it as ICE helping speed up TSA security checks?
Old enough to remember when the 2nd Bush administration fired a civil servant for estimating the cost of invading Iraq at $200bn instead of the $50bn the admin was claiming. 🤔 What was the eventual price tag?

About 30km west of Collingwood on the Bruce Peninsula lies a small but pretty waterfall also known as Pinnacle Rock falls.
Beautiful step waterfall that is worth the hike.
