^ All you need to know about the humanity of corporations and the future we are subjecting ourselves to by letting them rule our country.

Progressive grassroots candidates. Establishment Dem if you have to, over an outright fascist, and over third party in this broken system. #RepresentUS

They want to pillage the planet for short term profits, and make "freedom cities" where the ultra-wealthy can rule the masses, choking on the fumes, poisoned by the water. Their mansions will be in protected alcoves, where they imagine they can hide from the consequences. But the world would burn.

H.R. 1897 is moving fast in the House and could hit the floor for a full vote as soon as tomorrow. This bill would gut the Endangered Species Act forcing economic impact considerations into listing decisions, limiting your ability to challenge bad science in court,

Oh, but it's ok for us to call most Indigenous peoples of Turtle Island 'Indian' because they don't mind that, by and large. But most do mind the stereotype of the savage used as a mascot while the USA uses it against them to sway public opinion against land-protection and label them terrorists.

New policy: no letting morally reprehensible statements go by.

PS. You don't have to learn about it from me. In case you don't know the definition of genocide, that's a good start. It is genocidal, by definition, to prevent a culture from speaking their language or practicing their religion.

The overly genocidal treatment of Indigenous peoples by the United States didn't end with the last generation, and we still use them for mascots like animals. It's like if Germans had 'the rabbis' as a mascot before the Holocaust, and still had that, and somehow many Germans thought that was OK.

I'm afraid I'll have to go back to at least 1970 and talk about the way we rested children from their families and beat them for speaking their language or practicing their religion UNTIL 1978 when AIM won the legal rights to revive their languages and religions. AIM were labeled terrorists for it.

A text to an uncle.

If you're really interested in the reason many consider it OK to use 'Indian' in casual conversation to refer to Indigenous peoples, and why it's not OK to use them as a mascot, I'd be glad to explain.

It's great to see humans care.

Some ignorant human took a pencil and drew some lines on pressed tree pulp. We sliced the scars to match them into Mother Earth.

With so many of our harmful impacts, we're still pretending we don't understand the consequences, rather than trying to improve.

Bird seed mass-produced on monoculture farms reduces net habitat availability and has a net effect of contributing to bird declines.

Growing native plants for the birds provides habitat and food.

Sunflowers are invasive there? Crazy how one ecosystems keystone is another ecosystems bane.

Monsanto's former lawyer, C.T. represents whatever corporate interest bribes the best in the decisions of our highest court. It ain't hard when they, the coup-enabling judges, no longer care to fulfill the duty of explaining the decisions and how they are supported by the constitution.

In the US we make treaties between the national government and Indigenous peoples. Then we come at them with the state, country, and feds, violating the treaties and making industry backdoors to extract from their lands.

This sounds great. What do the Indigenous peoples whose land this is on say?

The pale green of willow buds, the electric green of Skunk Cabbage foliage or the bright, deep, classic green of strawberry leaves?

I absolutely adore that poem despite what I see as a glaring error. I say "Nature's first greens are gold."

Yes! You upped my appreciation for both that poem and for Forscythia by about 40% because they go so well together.

But Forscythia still goes in the B category here (MA, USA).

A. Spring flowers that feed the ecosystem, and support life

B. Spring flowers that are lovely and ecologically pointless

I am sickened by this this morning 💔😔
And this tragedy will go largely unnoticed, as though it doesn’t matter - as though THEY don’t matter. But they are the little canaries in our staggeringly shortsighted & selfish coalmine. If we don’t change now - we choose never, we choose #extinction for all 😞

*found in court to have committed rape

The judge has since clarified that that's what the case found, despite the fact that none of the whipped dogs of the mainstream media dares to say it.

Desperate for a lesser evil, I made calls for your campaign. You would have continued a genocide to keep Israel, the billionaire class, and the military industrial complex happy.

We need a leader of the people and for the people. Not a Harris or a Newsom who won't tax the rich or make real change.

Good chance it was a Furbo, seeing as it didn't.

I don't understand how they managed to scare even MA liberals into thinking that ranked choice voting was the scam, when the scam is the two party system.

I want to get ranked-choice voting and anti-corruption measures on ballots state by state via nonprofit RepresentUS.

Seriously. Trump vs neo-liberal imperialism. The difference abroad is largely how we promote colonialist extraction.

If we want to really change, we need grassroots progressive candidates. We won't get it from corporatists and PACs, controlled by Zionism and the extractive industries.

Over a hundred women have sung that song to me in the street. For a while, I was hearing it every week when it was nice, at the free concerts in Rochester (Party in the Park).

I see men treating animals like objects. I see a brutal man casually lash out and try to strike a curious cow.

Some of us are working so hard to compensate for the bulk behavior of our species that we drive ourselves a little crazy...

And learn to keep a lid on the crazy: my wife doesn't want to hear if the spring flowers are native. And then learn to let go a little? What I cannot control and whatnot ...

A bunch of Crocuses, blooming, with a cluster of light lavender blooms on the left and darker lavender blooms on the right. Low grass, leaves, and dirt surround the flowers and a boulder emerges behind them.

Don't second-guess every nice thing. We can battle to make the world a better place and still enjoy an imperfect feature. If I were selecting, I would choose a native wildflower.
AND, the patches of Crocuses in the Acton Arboretum, around the bases of Apple trees, are lovely.

Ooh, thanks! A fellow Cowbird apologist. I love the way they set up like a dragon to blast out their piercing liquid trill.

I'm very happy to have someone to follow who will teach me about birds. Lovely Woodcock background on their profile.

Trade the Grackle for a Cowbird, remove the Goldfinch, and add a Canada Goose. That's the list of birds I identified with Merlin yesterday.

Since the start of the day, Russians struck Kharkiv 11 times‼️

Most of the drones used were jet‑powered, and this is the first time the enemy deployed them against our city.

11 times guys! it's only 16:15. And we are all out and working, with no possibility to hide.
