Stayed away from them ever since. Later when we lived in Sweden, found a great Indian restaurant. Buffet style. But all the labels were in Swedish and the owners' language, our Swedish wasn't great yet, so it was a very risky guessing game picking something that did not have lentils.

Got the traditional cup of lentil chili at the festival in August, and an hour later I'm ditching my fiancée and brother to get home as quick as I can.

No idea. Just some kind of food allergy/intolerance that developed in my early 20's. Had been fine before. Loved a good lentil stew. But had a Progresso lentil soup a few months before and ended up missing an hour of "The Return of the King" in the theater restroom. Thought it was a one off thing.

It wasn't always that way. Lived in Pullman for 10 years and it was my 8th Lentil festival that had me passed out on the bathroom floor.

Lentils make me ill. Violently. Hard to learn that lesson while living in the lentil capital of the world.
