One of my least favorite things around AI in video games is when these LLM idiots try to say that "AI has been in video games for decades," as if the routines that tell ghosts to chase Pac-Man are exactly the same as the chat bot claiming there are nine Rs in strawberry.

While defending the luddite argument in Discord, I stumbled into this IMO succinct explanation for opposing generative AI:

At every step in the process, it impoverishes us.

On one hand, reducing car use reduces urban pollution.
But on the other, everyone likes it and cities become more livable

It's every scam we've ever known – in this case, spirit mediums – being automated and scaled. These systems should not exist. They should not be deployed. They should not be made or used. No amount of saying "well the genie is out of the bottle now" can change the moral reality of that.

The 'deadbot' thing is why I genuinely am so madly angry at people defending LLMs or going "what's the harm". That's the harm. It's a system for lying at scale. It is socially corrosive at its core. It can never be good. It can only do net harm.
