Such a scary day in Edinburgh today, red alert weather: deafening noise created by winds, flat shaking, trees down, everything closed, sirens like air raids. The sooner it stops, the better. #stormEowyn
I defend Labour a lot. I think they are doing a good job overall in the face of adversity. But even I cannot find a positive in this continued rejection of joining the SM or CU or anything that is offered by Europe. I want them to get this sorted. ASAP.
Trump's flurry of destructive actions in his first few hours in power just made regaining our EU membership much MUCH more pressing.
When someone is actively tearing down the myriad rules-based systems that glue the modern world together, we need to be closely partnered with their defender.
A few days off to escape the news
Thank you so much, Jane.
That’s it. I have sent my submission to the 2025 Discoveries competition for my first novel. Time to take the plunge. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻#writing
A heroine to millions of women & a #WomanOfACertainAge
Sending my first book of the year, always satisfying. However for many people there wasn’t much cheer during the festivities. The end of a marriage is sad, whatever the reasons.
Reworking my first 10,000 words. Really enjoyable to see how the story and the characters surprise me.
So helpful; thank you very much 😊
How do you build an Author Platform?
🤔 Any advice gratefully received #writingCommunity #writing

Et maintenant tu écris, et moi aussi 😊
Thank you very much, Lizzie. I followed the Nigella Lawson recipe (her Christmas book). Her recipes are pretty foolproof.

Loved the description of England in #themirrorandthelight as ‘An island full of heretics and sheep”
That’s #Brexit and #reformUK voters in one simple phrase
Please sign this. We can’t sit around and wait forever - we need to show our politicians there is popular demand for rebuilding relations with the EU. I think it’s called “the will of the people!”
It’s an easy recipe, Warren, but the house smells christmassy now.
Thank you, very kind of you!
Ridiculously pleased with my attempt at Nigella’s chocolate fruit cake. Perfect way to unwind after a demanding week.
Struggling to write a synopsis for my first novel. However doing this makes me clarify in my mind what the book is really about (not quite what I thought). #writing
How cute!
My two year old grandson just said to me: ‘what are you doing, darling?’ What is a grandma supposed to do but melt? 💝
What Banksy says…
A day of intense editing of the first 10,000 words of my first novel. I love the whole process of #writing
Yes!
I agree 😊
