Actually I'd rather be taking a calc test rn
Booking hotels is like taking a calculus test I hate this shit
All of my bad ideas start with "don't worry I'm an expert"
Very common finds, but lovely all the same :)

Okay so update.
Had to crack her open. I polished her some more and the bell got loose and the stud fell *inside*.
I'm certified in radiation mitigation though so I'm happy to report she's fixed and the house is clean.
This was definitely me though
A Westclox Black Bird luminous dial alarm clock.
Spent some time today polishing her up and she actually started ticking! Not willing to crack her open to get her working but she did shine up pretty well.
Needs a lot more polishing but I'm doing a little at a time to limit dose. I also took the bell off to polish and now it's not sitting right ๐ญ
You know you're from Cleveland when your RTA ticket is your best bookmark
I've wanted an Instax for YEARS but couldn't ever justify the price, especially when I didn't like the tiny photos it put out.
This is a great alternative and it's dead simple to use!
I picked up a brand new Polaroid Snap at the thrift and I'm having so much fun with it
I miss old shitty cameras so much, my DSLR is just Too Serious sometimes I swear

I'm not joking when I say mRNA technology is more important than "AI" and it's a tragedy we're throwing billions into one while our government is aggressively defunding the other.

These are like, cubbie shelves at ceiling height! He thankfully cannot jump 10' in the air (yet)
NRC non-occupational standard dose limit is 1 mSv/year, but we really don't start seeing cancer rates increase until about 100 mSv/year. So while I would personally prefer mitigation to keep doses as low as possible, I don't think research suggests any clinical significance!
Gotta consider acute vs chronic, alpha vs beta/gamma, but yeah it's really not too bad, thank you for the reality check
It's ~6 bananas/hour
Sitting at about 0.61 uSv/hr right up against the glass. Foot away it drops to virtually nothing.
Right up against it though is ~5 mSv/year which is WOOF
Marie Curie, you madwoman...
This isn't to raise alarm with anyone else who might collect radium dial clocks, btw!
I'm a certified dosimetry specialist and radmat specialist. It's more out of curiosity.
But I would not recommend it's intended use on your night stand, just because we want to minimize where we can.
A Westclox Black Bird luminous dial alarm clock sits on a very dusty shelf.
Ignore the dust, I had to put it on a top shelf where the cat can't get to it, but I scored a Westclox Black Bird today!
She's a bit spicy so we're running a dose rate measurement right now. About 225/cpm but that doesn't give me much info, I want dose rate for safety reasons :)
