If you’re gaming this weekend, make sure you roll your Zocchihedron to honor his legacy!

The first time I attended GenCon, my one “must-do” activity was to visit the Gamescience booth, hear Lou’s well-rehearsed spiel about the superior design of his dice, and buy a full set from the man himself. He did not disappoint

I’m saddened to hear of the passing of Lou Zocchi. He was a real titan in many gaming circles, most notably by shaping how the Star Trek TOS ships would be represented in games for decades and for his rigorously designed Gamescience dice. He will be sorely missed.

You make a compelling point that I had not previously considered.

You know what else would make better time than the fastest human in a marathon? A human wearing roller-skates, or a human on a bike, or a human in a car, or a human using any form of mechanical advantage. That’s the whole damn point!

We set up a system that assumes the president is a person of high moral and ethical standards or else we wouldn’t elect them. If they fail at this most basic standard of decency, the VP and Congress (acting in the best interest of the people) have the ability to remove the president.

Oh wait…

At least have an interaction or two with them before forming an opinion on their performance. I’ve looked forward to every new character addition and haven’t been disappointed yet. These will be no exception.

Thank you! People ate complaining that they aren’t exact clones of some of the most iconic movie stars from 50 years ago. As long as the actors have the right attitude, they’ll be a great addition to the experience.

Disney revealed the new Han and Leia actors for Galaxy’s Edge and wow, people are absolutely brutal in their comments. Some folks won’t be satisfied with anything less than Ford and Fisher clones grown from their preserved DNA. That said, Disney should splurge for better wigs for face characters.

What?! A generative AI user resorting to unethical means to avoid creating their own content?! Absolutely shocking!

That booth looks slick as hell! If I wasn’t in a different hemisphere I’d definitely stop by to check it out. Best of luck for a fun and profitable Salute!

Go check out the incredible wares that Fenris Games has for you at Salute! I’d go in person but it’s a bit of a schlep for me so tell him I said hi!

Not all of these are absolute requirements but for example, I’d be really hesitant to classify someone a Senior if they haven’t lived through every phase of a project and seen how the needs and objectives change.

2 weeks ago 0 0 0 0

Associates have experienced maybe one phase, juniors have two or three phases, mid-level may have experienced all phases but not start-to-finish on one project, while seniors have end-to-end experience in every phase of at least one shipped title. Sr Staff and Principal have shipped multiple titles.

This thread illustrates that there is no concrete and standardized definition for these stages. Rather than talk about years of experience, I found a helpful guide was to consider how many phases of development (prepro, production, finalization, and post-launch) a person has experienced

When I become Emperor of the Known Universe, I would mandate that all posts that advertise an event must state in the description where it is physically located. I’m tired of digging through multiple screens to find out the cool event is taking place several time zones away

Spending the weekend attending WonderCon and staying at a nearby hotel. I miss the days when solid hotel bathroom doors actually closed on hinges and latched, not just slid loosely into place. I’m trying to be polite to the rest of my family in the next room but the architecture is betraying me
