Omen Beasts are creatures based on one of the haunting manifestations of the Legend of the Bell Witch and my own twist of spooky inspiration! No two are the same and each one brings its own omen with it. These can be anywhere from good to apocalyptic, the energy of these strange beasts carries the unknown for those in their path. This beast carries about the fractured presence of a calamity past....or present. Its form is shades of muted brown with fissures and fractures like broken pottery. Inside the beast is a void of pure black. One eye hauntingly stares at the viewer from within. This adopt is based on the Lion Dog of Asia (also called the Shi Shi, Fu, Foo, Komainu, etc.) which is often seen as statuary and iconic for its fiercely protective nature, symbol of prosperity, and luck. The fu dog illustrated has a lush, thick mane and tail of dark chocolate brown. The elbows also sport the same dark colored hair that stands out starkly against bright rainbow "sprinkle" markings across the body. Like said markings on the body the claws also mirror the rainbow colors and are different on each paw. There is a slight rainbow fade from mane to tail, between the shoulders to the rump, and along the belly to the knee. The muzzle is thick and lion-like with large fangs, the markings along the whiskers are bright rainbow colors like on the body. It has the same on the nose with a spot on the brow as well as the inside of the lips. Around the fu dog's neck is a wide collar with a striped rainbow pattern, a pastel pink tassel, and giant gold bell. Meet the strange and unusual creatures called the Bunyips! Named after the Aboriginal mythological creature known to haunts rivers, swamps, and billabongs--these Bunyips are very different from their Aussie cousins. In fact, the "bun" in the name is quite literal, but don't be fooled. Bunyips are seemingly normal looking bunnies until you see their four eyes, odd colors, and that grabber tongue that stretches over six feet in length! The tongue also serves as a secondary mouth to ingest larger prey up to four times their size. These little guys live just about anywhere and are able to climb like tree frogs and geckos! This bunyip is striking shades of yellow-green, green, blue, and orange. The body sports large and complex spots with some interweaving striping that continues on the neck, rump, and -legs. On the stomach and rump are both two orange spots on top of the purple. In the upper left corner is a bust of the bunyip with it's mouth open to show it's grabber tongue. The tongue is tipped bright yellow-orange, fading to magenta and then a bright cyan blue. In the lower left corner is a close-up of the bunyip's eye. This one was difficult, but I really loved getting to draw something insanely colorful
