If you're an indie dev and feel weird about having to market your game and ask/prompt for reviews I ask you to have a mere fraction of the persistence of the dental clinic that has sent me three texts asking me to leave them a review since they pulled a wisdom tooth out three hours ago

Bilbo barely passed Old Took's record lifespan after having a supernaturally-life-extending ring for 60 years. which begs a question. what the hell did Old Took do

I have a theory that somewhere back up the line gandalf fucked a took. This sounds like complete crack but hear me out. The tooks are rumored to have "fairy blood" which in LOTR terms means either elves or maia. There is an ancestor who's unusually tall and many of them are noted to live unusually long lives unless they meet with illness or injury, same as the numenorians did. They don't hve extra pointy ears and elves don't have a special interest in the line. But who DOES have a special interest in looking after tooks (and bilbo who is a took on his mother's side/his adopted son frodo)? Gandalf. That dude is ALWAYS fussing over some silly little guy. He regularly brought the old took birthday presents.
Back in the day some bold hobbitess decided to climb that old man and ever since then gandalf has been looking after his line of tiny crazy bastards and no one will convince me otherwise.

So my more Tolkien-minded friends how do we feel about this theory? Because I mean it makes a lot of sense…

Anthropic clarifies ban on third-party tool access to Claude : Legal language change aims to make longstanding policy clear

They also said this last month and it has been in the terms-of-service since the first time I didn't bother reading them. www.theregister.com/2026/02/20/a...

Perhaps I have gotten soft over the years but I find Resident Evil Requiem extremely creepy.

What harness are you using with Codex?

I like the plans it makes and the code it writes but it refuses to iterate to completion.

1 week ago 0 0 0 0

I know a bunch of people using Opus with API tokens paid by their jobs. None of these use Claude Code.

I think quality matters and Anthropic has a huge quality advantage in models so their harness doesn’t have to be as good.

This is not unlike how the hardware advantage Apple has shields them.

I have to think that it isn’t the CLI that is pulling the weight here or people hadn’t been so eager to use OpenCode with Anthropic models.

Anthropic had to subsidize our use of this tool. It is the only way to get affordable access to Opus.

Maybe but I’m not going to spend much time optimizing for a model I expect to get replaced by something better in June when iOS 27 is announced.

I haven’t done statistics on this but it will almost always decide to list files as the first tool use, which is a natural first choice.

On a large repository that listing output might be enough to blow through context. All my tests on the built-in model feel a little pretend.

13 tools and if my focus was the built-in on-device model I would have cut a few of these, but also even feeding a commit diff into this not-very-LLM is extremely optimistic

I'm not sure about the details of the model.

Just what you get from FoundationModels.LanguageModelSession.init on iPadOS 26.3 on my M1 iPad Pro.

But it is surprisingly good at tool calling before it runs out of context.

User picks the model without fall back and it is mostly a curiosity to use the on-device model.

Might not include this choice in the App Store version.

If the AI bubble pops a because energy becomes too expensive to run data centers because of a war started by a president installed by the AI techbros, I'll have to admit, kudos to the scenarists for this season.

I can’t help but think the customers that are easy to sway away from the dominant SaaS are also the customers most likely to vibe-code something bespoke for just their needs.
