Yes, I have collage art on the website of The Oakland Review of Books, and we discussed a collage workshop to have something fun for supporters
I’ve been asked to maybe run a collage workshop. You got some pointers and/or a list of stuff to have on hand?
I grew up on comic books, because my aunt collected them for years. In addition to American stuff (DC, Marvel, Disney) she was into manga, and I read Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind (Miyazaki) around 10 or so. So I was lucky to be exposed to dope visual art from another culture at that age
How is a cat a bus? Miyazaki crazy
@whosyrhoosier.bsky.social thanks for including me in your Oakland series:)
I’ve transported laundry many times on a longboard
I wish all my rides in Oakland were this smooth!
Been sick for close to a week. Today I feel loads better. Rode the longboard to BART just for some fun before work.
I like your term unstable-tower in your description. I’ve been thinking of a similar thing, but more literal pile up of objects
Oh I’d love to see that in person!
Collage of various images cut out of books and magazines
Happy birthday from Weirdsville, made at the Xavier School of Radical Interrogation, 2026 #cutandpaste #analogcollage #collageart the original has some color, but made black and white here
Hope you have fun with those, and they lead to interesting work
Go! Gotta enjoy a good hair day
I’m a librarian and I sent a letter from the Bay Area. I hope the organizing improves LAPL, people deserve a good library. And please remember there were librarians that wanted the program to happen; management made the wrong choice.
This is great. And SFPL is hosting Sara Calvosa Olson tomorrow!
You made that? Or you were at a restaurant? Which one, if so
Check this: Sea Now author Eva Meijer and translator Anne Thompson Melo will be at SF Public Library in August. In person! Be on the lookout in June/July for more details. (Sea Now is published by Two Lines)
Your paper isn’t perfect, but I appreciate your work, Charlie. As a librarian who focused for years in a newspaper/magazine department, i agree that good journalism is needed for a working democracy.
It’s brave of you to put that out there

Too late to apply/submit, but it feels cool that I'm quoted in this collage prompt!
Hi there! It's neat that you quoted me in my Kolaj article from issue 36. I'll be on the lookout for future prompts.

@zunguzungu.bsky.social this is the latest one. I feel like I got a maurice sendak vibe outta this one. very -ish of a vibe, but still there i think. this feels like a good one. not my best, but not bad.
