I never knew parakeets could get so big!
BTW, I'm going to choose to believe that rumour about Jimi Hendrix because it's such a cool idea. 😁
A tropical bird of some sort - green with a red break- munches away at something on a pine tree in Brussels.
Is this a parrot? An oversized parakeet? Whatever it is, it's a tropical bird perched on a pine tree. Strange, because the picture was taken in #Brussels, and I never imagined Belgium to be a tropical country.
Every week or so I have a session of Dungeons and Dragons with some Italian friends of mine. Apart from being a ton of fun, I get to learn a lot of useful vocabulary: lupo mannaro=werewolf; uomo lucertola=lizard man; teschio=skull; malconcio=in bad shape; intonso=intact. 😆 #DND
The tips of my fingers, with lines across them where I have been pressing the bass strings. After several hours of practicing, it kinda hurts.
My fingers hurt after several hours of practicing #bass. I still haven't nailed the song that I'm rehearsing, though. 😫
I've been fighting against an airline to get a refund for a flight they cancelled. I'm pretty certain this is what you're forced to spend the day doing in one of the circles of Hell. #Dante
I'm neurodivergent too and I absolutely understand what you're saying! Promotion is a totally different job to writing, and one that requires almost the exact opposite qualities. It is exhausting and sometimes demoralising.
Truths About Writing Most people will ignore what you write Someone dead did it better than you You will be misunderstood That's all ok
Note from my notebook (2017).
I'm currently finishing draft 4 of an 83000-word novel, and i think I'm going to do a draft 5 just so that I can postpone the moment when I have to start looking for someone to publish it.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this #booksky
Dice tower in the shape of a castle tower, made out of balsa wood and modelling foam. The tower has an opening at the bottom that leads onto a patio where the dice come to rest. My kids say it's the most awesome thing they've seen in ages, and their opinion isn't conditioned by the fact that I'm holding some sweets of theirs hostage.
Just like the one i made the other day. 😆 I should have written something in Latin somewhere; that's a nice touch.
Ok, the evening at Librebook went well. It didn't quite feel like having my skin ripped off without anesthesia. Besides, i got into a conversation with a lovely Venezuelan and an equally lovely French/Ghanan. Ah, wonderful #Brussels! #booksky #writingcommunity
A crowd gathered in Librebook, a bookshop in Brussels, for an open mic night.
There's A LOT of people in Librebook this evening! Holy moocow.... #Brussels #booksky #writingcommunity
It's aperobook time in Librebook! Drop by tomorrow, Thursday 26th, at 7Pm for a drink, some poetry and some short stories. If you have anything you'd like to read, I'd love to hear it. #Brussels #librebook ##doloresandothersorrows
It feels great to be able to watch top tier ice hockey live. Shame my team is getting slaughtered... 😕 #Olympics #milanocortina
Watching birdies eating is relaxing, so much so that I went from one feeder to three so that i could put different types of food in them. Now half the neighbourhood birdies stop for breakfast at our garden.

Ah, beautiful Rome! Sun. People shouting all the time. Traffic jams under 2000-year-old bridges. Casual coffee next to works by all the great Renaissance artists. Men in kilts? Ah, yes, it's the #sixnations! 🏉🇮🇹🏴
A colleague of mine just told me that she bought #doloresandothersorrows online and that she should be receiving it in a couple of days. That's kind of made my day, to be honest. I can safely go back to bed and I will have had a good day. #booksky

Somewhere in this mass of leaves there's a turd that my dog just dropped. I think this could make for an interesting new take on #whereswaldo. #dogs #doglife
This sentence has five words. Here are five more words. Five-word sentences are fine. But several together become monotonous. Listen to what is happening. The writing is getting boring. The sound of it drones. It's like a stuck record The ear demands some variety. Now listen. I vary the sentence length, and I create music. Music. The writing sings. It has a pleasant rhythm, a lilt, a harmony. luse short sentences. And I use sentences of medium length. And sometimes when I am certain the reader is rested, | will engage him with a sentence of considerable length, a sentence that burns with energy and builds with all the impetus of a crescendo, the roll of the drums, the crash of the cymbals-sounds that say listen to this, it is important. So write with a combination of short, medium, and long sentences. Create a sound that pleases the reader's ear. Don't just write words. Write music. -Gary Provost

Congress Allocates $500 Million For Development Of Funkier Bass Lines theonion.com/congress-allocates-500-m...
My son went to have lunch with his mates. When he came back he saw me practicing on my bass and told me that over the holiday period he'd love to get me to teach him a bit of bass. I think that clearly means he's drunk.
Hello Bluepals, like the tub of Quality Street we bought at the weekend that was supposed to be saved until December 23rd, we are open.
