Romania, 2024. People gathered to celebrate the war criminal Zelea Codreanu (whom Georgescu described as a national hero!) with the nazi salute and iron guard. A service was held by an Orthodox priest. Though technically illegal, the gendarmes were watching it without interference. (1/)

Thanks for the context! I enjoyed George’s art growing up and while I know now it was happenstance, the red dress often reminded me of the types of dresses I’d use to see at post-wedding Romani parties, just less showing off of legs.

🧵I wrote my thesis on how Ireland repealed their constitutional ban on abortion.

What I found, is that the testimonies of women who nearly died - or stories of women who did die - or were otherwise traumatized were the most effective on changing anti-healthcare people’s minds.

The Busiek era of Wanda running around in this kind of outfit this always funny on one hand, it’s not remotely what a Roma would wear on a day to day basis but on the other, I’ve definitely seen these outfits at every pachiv I go to.
