Thank you for your kind words. We are often our own harshest critics.

When I first identified as a naturist in 2011, I was not happy with my photo being taken, so the earliest one I can find is 2016. As my naturism has evolved, I no longer suffer from the body shame that I used to.

Slept naked for the last 47 years. Don’t own pyjamas.

The more images of naked PEOPLE there are the more normalised it will become and the less sexualised. Just images of naked women will unfortunately perpetuate the sexualisation of women. Nudity is for everyone. It is the natural state of all living beings on this planet.

I have always thought that it should up to each individual to choose what, or what not to wear. And choosing to wear nothing should be as unremarkable as your hair colour. People might notice, but the just don’t care. Perhaps one day, if we can change societies hang up’s around nudity.

I set up a Naturism feed to filter the content I see. I set up an exclusion list, and I add offending accounts to it. Usually a couple a day, but if you add to it as you come across content that doesn't fit your criteria, it's easier than wading through all your followers.

Wow, that’s going back a while. Not sure how many will get that reference.

The stereotype doesn't die because every time we go to a naturist beach, guys are lurking in the dunes looking for opportunities to be sexual. These people are not naturists, and all the gay naturists I know don't behave like that, but the lurkers create a perception that feeds the stereotype.

Furthermore, I believe that if clothing were to be banned for everyone, there would be a few weeks of awkwardness, but very quickly, nudity would become normal and acceptable.

If I could wave a magic wand then everyone would have the right to wear, or not wear, whatever they like, wherever they are, and have people give it as much regard as they currently give the colour of someone’s hair. I want non sexual nudity to be unremarkable and so common that no one cares.

Fair call. I don’t see it as a religion but I guess it is a belief. I prefer to call it a philosophy. Perhaps as a religion, it would have more standing and tolerance in society. Authorities seem more willing to accept religious diversity in their communities. Maybe that’s the key to acceptance.

I identify as a naturist rather than a nudist. I find more people are accepting of naturism once the philosophy is explained.

In 1974, the INF defined naturism as

a way of life in harmony with nature, characterised by the practice of communal nudity with the intention of encouraging self-respect, respect for others and for the environment.

This is just my opinion, but I see nudists as people who enjoy being naked for whatever reason, whereas naturists have a more holistic philosophy about respect for the environment, where nudity is just one aspect.

It’s 28 degrees with high humidity. Even if I wasn’t a naturist, I reckon it’s too uncomfortable for clothes.

OUCH. Hope it's not too painful.

I’ve never heard writer community but I have heard writing community. Nudist colony is only used by people who have no idea about the nudism or naturism, often media outlets. The definition of colony indicates that nudists live together, separately from society. We don’t. We are everywhere

Sometimes we need some weird in our lives. I used to drink standard off the shelf mass produced beer, but now I prefer the more boutique crafted beers. An acquired taste perhaps, but I find the old beers I used to drink quite bland and uninspiring.
