We think of white matter as the highways of the brain. But when we followed development along those highways, we were surprised. The journey is more complex than we thought. My final PhD paper, “Two Axes of White Matter Development”, is now out in @natcomms.nature.com! 🛣️🧠✨

The extended version of my thesis procrastination project/subcortex visualization package is out now in both Python and R, now that I’ve graduated 🤠 This figure shows the 9 atlases included (and counting)!

I’m really enjoying doing a lot of work in Julia these days, tackling work where Python struggles. This is a fantastic resource!

Thanks for the shoutout! It works well despite some spacing challenges that are a matter of trial and error!

I’ve been sitting on a few updates that need to be added, so this is a great reminder 😅

The answer was not the point. The answer was never the point. The process of searching is the process of learning.

Microstructural asymmetry in the human cortex - Nature Communications The human cortex displays an anterior-to-posterior asymmetry, identified via both post-mortem and in vivo microstructural measurements. Microstructural asymmetry is heritable, varies across cortical l...

Thrilled to share my latest work "Microstructural asymmetry in the human cortex" now out in NatComms. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
This work used cytoarchitecture (BigBrain), T1w/T2w, qT1, and MT measures to bring the cortical asymmetry from macrostructure to microstructure.

This is a really great paper and a joy to read: www.nature.com/articles/s41...

And, as always, it's great to see surfplot (surfplot.readthedocs.io/en/latest/) in the wild!

Great read, thanks for the share. I recently had to resort to Julia for an otherwise unfeasible task in Python, and although it now does the specific task extremely well, there were plenty of headaches and headshakes
