Local Convention season is underway here for DSA-LB, and we've got big plans brewing! Our theme this year is "Building Momentum", which gets its name from the surge of membership and organizing we did in 2025. This year is the next step in growing into the fighting Chapter we all know it can be.

Our first GM of the new year is fast approaching!
This Saturday, Jan 10 from 11a–1p we'll be having our GM at Long Beach Forward!
We'll also be having a "Coffee with Comrades" moment before the GM to mingle, wake up, and hear from committee reps about ways you can get active in 2025.
Unfortunately this event will be at a 21+ only due to venue restrictions. We look forward to many all-ages events in 2026!

Zohran Mamdani's historic win today is a reminder that the people united CAN beat wealthy elites like Cuomo and his billionaire backers Thanks to the efforts of a massive grassroots campaign that brought together comrades all across the nation and native New Yorkers, the people have spoken.
Prior to the 11 am GM start we will be having our New Member Hour to help newer members break the ice with comrades! Plus you can find out more about what's happening in the Chapter AND meet with some representatives from Committees ahead of time to learn about how to get plugged into work.
The bulk of this session will be be a Chapter Visioning Session to determine strategies for 2026 locally. We'll of course here reports from Steering about the state of the Chapter and make a call to our future Chapter Leaders to consider stepping up at the start of the new year.
