On that point i agree. There are some silly proposals in it tho eg Cutting childcare when we are trying to get more people into work & increase birth rate is not thought thru. I am up for a discussion but not a rerun of 2011 austerity which caused many more problems than it solved!!

There is a place for technology, but it and Cops are not mutually exclusive . Tech can cut thru repetitive tasks, help identify evidence and reduce crime. It cant deal with a dv victim or stop a fight or police a major event. I love tech and celebrate it but its useless without people!!!
I don't know the exact details of force budgets but i have no doubt they will be very challenging. Reading the news over recent weeks all the issues i mentioned in my above post have been mentioned as needing 'improvement', 'resources' 'more focus' and 'being taken more seriously'. Not envying them
Ok.I am supportive of NHP but it will be a difficult transition with the many other priorities eg VAWG retail crime, drugs, response times, managing events & protests etc Taking into account experience, recruitment, training leave etc and current general demand i fear this is going to be gamed
