Not sure what setup ExoDos has, but the game is 16-bit Macromedia Director 4 and runs best in Windows 3.1 with high-colour graphics mode.
Normally I'd recommend ScummVM's Director support, but I can't this time because McKenzie has a ton of minigames written in C++ and I'd have to rewrite em all

It's telling that the one "big" success story in the years of slop has been computer programming, an industry where a lot of people have no professional standards and are allergic to solidarity.
Reverse engineering Fool's Errand! We've ported 5 or 6 of the puzzle modules, and now we just have two bastard hard ones left. Oh and the finale.

Fool's Errand progress report: several of the puzzle types are now ported. So far we have:
- jigsaws
- polyominos
- word reveals
- the Sun's map
- the Death challenge
- word search
- the tarot draw poker game
Fool's Errand reversing stream! Four puzzle types completed, and we've almost done all of the Macintosh API that's needed. Tonight we'll focus on the tarot-based draw poker game

Thanks for doing this! I made a short queer point-and-click adventure game for MS-DOS/web browser, set in deep space. The game engine was heavily inspired by the design of LucasArts' SCUMM/GrimE systems and has been open sourced.

Transfer Point is now available! It’s a point-and-click adventure game about regret, forgiveness, and email. It was made in World Builder, a Mac app from 1986. You can play it free in your web browser. InvisiClues are available if you need a hint! robotspacer.software/transfer-poi... #MARCHintosh
Screenshot of the script editor, showing a screenshot at the top and a spreadsheet-like view on bottom. The screenshot at the top features the text that's being typed into the actively-selected text box.
New blog post! I threw together a little graphical script editing utility for the Magic School Lunar fan translation, which lets me visualize every line of dialogue as I write it in order to let me see how it'll look in-game.

Reverse engineering Fool's Errand! We've hit a snag which requires emulating a substatial part of the Macintosh graphics subsystem, so I guess we're doing that!

ScummVM fixing stream! In which we continue trying to fix The Journeyman Project, one of the first major Macromedia Director games to exploit every engine loophole. Warmup: singing and/or learning

Transfer Point is a point-and-click adventure game for Macintosh. It was made in World Builder and MacPaint, and it fits on an 800K floppy disk. It also has an egret. Coming soon for most web browsers, or as a download to play on your classic Mac. robotspacer.software/transfer-poi... #MARCHintosh
Fool's errand progress report: added saving and loading, and the jigsaw module fully works. This code is used for several jigsaw puzzles with different dimensions, and is quite nice to use thanks to the click-to-drag multiselect feature.
Fool's Errand porting stream! The first puzzle type is working, maybe tonight we can get that number to two.

Sad to see Professor Finkle pivot to the "No chocolate, only broccoli" school of edutainment
No songs?!
You might ask "what happens if you set the colour depth to 32-bit mode out of spite" and don't worry they thought of that
Here's maybe my favourite screen of the original Professor Finkle
Oh lord they made more of these didn't they
Fool's Errand progress report: intro is done, we're now porting the game itself. The game data loads and the story view is (mostly!) rendering properly; scrolling up and down will jump between sections of the story which have been unlocked. Next goal is to start porting over puzzle code.
Canalys estimated in 2025 that Windows 11 will send 240 million working computers to e-waste. Microsoft seem hell-bent on breaking that record for Windows 12
BREAKING: We've freed Cookie.
Following an investigation by VGHF, Ukie and Web Capio have suspended DMCA takedowns for Cookie's Bustle on behalf of Graceware, SL.

I had success using RPCEmu - there's a site offering an easy-start bundle with RISC OS 3.71 which saved a lot of time
Hah I also have strong memories of this. Bums me out on how much of the Acorn Archimedes software catalogue isn't preserved, including most of the Sherston Software games. (Although against the odds all four ArcVenture games are available!)
