Making great progress on the Home Screen widgets for tryfocuskit.com. Next: Adding translations for 10 languages and adding Shortcuts/Intents support! πͺ
I am so confused. Google randomly rejected my app update because it contains "offensive language" and didn't provide a screenshot of the content in question. I am sure there is nothing offense in it π
AI is making me overconfident π
I've always avoided game dev because the math and programming complexity scared me.
But now I'm actually considering building one because I had a cool game idea. The mental barrier just disappeared...
Back on obsidian.md as my second brain and I pointed Claude Cowork at my vault. Now it generates a daily digest every morning with all my project statuses. I open my laptop and immediately know where everything stands. Love it!
The next habitkit.app update will be awesome! Can't wait to ship this new widget. Will hand it in for review on Sunday!
March revenue for my app business was rough. I think people are spooked by inflation, cutting anything that isn't essential. If you're a lifestyle app dev and your numbers tanked this month: you're not alone.
Still working on that landing page revamp for habitkit.app. I will try to deploy it next week!
First time I see habitkit.app on #1 for the keyword "habit tracker" in a country. Austria just has a "difficulty" of 23, but maybe other countries will follow π€
95 weeks of writing my indie log. 5 more to go until #100.
I have to be honest, some weeks it feels like a waste of time. I could be shipping features, fixing bugs, building new apps.
But then I get messages from people saying it inspired them to start.
So... do I keep going?
Building An Indie App Business #95: Journaling, Building, and Staying Grounded

Daily journaling is one of the best habits I've picked up as a solo indie dev. When everything around you is chaotic a few minutes of writing things down keeps you focused and intentional. It's like a reset button for your mind.
Bringing the new Compact List Widget of habitkit.app to Android as well πͺ
Jetpack Glance is the worst and most limited API on mobile I've ever worked with, but using Opus 4.6 actually makes it bearable!
Adding one of the most requested feature to habitkit.app: A home screen widget for the "compact" list view π
I think I shipped a horrible bug with the latest tryfocuskit.com update π What a fun way to start the week...

Considering a small price bump for FocusKit after a few more app updates. Still thinking it through, but it feels like the right direction. The other option is to wait until it ranks better and use the lower price to build momentum.
What would you do? π€
The worst thing about being an indie app developer: Bookkeeping and doing taxes... How much time are you "wasting" on this instead of shipping? I have a tax advisor but it still takes a lot of effort!
Started working on a big new feature update for tryfocuskit.com: Home Screen widgets, one of the most requested features!
Released a new habitkit.app version today with huge performance improvements. Hope this fixes issues for users who track a large number of habits π€
I really don't understand why Google Play halts an ongoing rollout when I submit the next version for review. Those are two different things.
Can someone explain this to me?
I know, I'm late to the party, but craft.do is such a cool app! One of the best looking "second brain" apps out there π―

The RevenueCat State Of Subscription Apps 2026 dropped! You might be able to spot a familiar face in there π
Dealing with annoying Android stuff for HabitKit today... Glad I focus on iOS only with FocusKit π
Confession: I tried to improve the performance of my app HabitKit for the past 2 years, haven't found a good solution. AI did it in 30 mins and the performance of the app 10xed... Maybe I'm just a bad programmer? π
I spent countless hours optimizing the code of my first app to reduce (potential) Firebase costs when I started my business. I present to you: The monthly Firebase bill π
The Apple Watch integration for my app tryfocuskit.com is available on the App Store now! π
Revenue Update for my new app @focuskitapp:
