Given all the reports of illness coming out of Atmosphere Conf, I'd love to see a lot more folks masking next year

“I don’t understand anything about the system I’m criticizing” is not a bragging point!

Long term consequences of COVID infections are rarely acknowledged or addressed because of political concerns, not health-related ones.

Now that i’m a grill guy, pro tip: a standard propane tank fits snuggly into a standard milk crate, so when you go to get it filled, you don’t need to try to fuck with tying the tank down in your car. Just slip it into the milk crate and you’re good

Being called a "weak link" for masking still no longer bothers me if I take it literally - why yes, I am the weak link… in the SARS-CoV2 transmission chain helping to stop infections ⛓️‍💥

I like the trend of people naming their kids after places, such as Dallas, Savannah, Austin, Dakota, etc. I'm gonna name my daughter Buffalo

The problem with human software developers is that there’s no way to guarantee they’ll write secure code. You just have to *ask them nicely* and hope they do it

I would love to stop wearing a mask everywhere I go in public. But I'm not willing to risk my long term health because Joe Biden said the pandemic is over, and the public just shrugged. Of course I mask to protect my family, but I mostly wear it to protect you. I wish you'd do the same.

this is why i’ll continue saying that ux is far more important than better models - it doesn’t matter how good the models get if you don’t understand what good AI ux is in your product/company

guys, bluesky is dying. if we don't start getting more likes, a greedy developer will bulldoze the site to put up a parking garage. the only thing that can save it is for a ragtag crew of misfits to put on one last big concert at the community center.

Yes, coding LLMs are basically unavoidable now. The unethical way they're developed is not.

If you use something that's critical in your workflow, I think it's also your responsibility to call on the company behind it to build it in an ethical way. Especially if they're generating revenue from you.
