Did a personal documentation today of my childhood mall Ford City. It's scheduled to be shutdown within a week for safety hazards and flooding within the lower levels.
I went here all the time as a child. Lots of good memories, esp with remembering how my family loved this place. Full thread below
Hope this was enjoyable for y'all! It still brings me grief to see this place go, but I'm happy to have had its impact and memories shared with me that I'll always treasure its layout and architecture. Suncoast records, KB toys and an ol book store were my favs! Happy to have experienced it. ❤️
To conclude off, some photos of the exterior to just show how much time has treated this place.
Carson Pierre used to be near the Sears here. Used to be where we got some nice family photos, lots of Christmas shopping and where I bought Pkmn Pearl, my fav gen that got me back into the series.
This JC penny also held a lot of significance for me as its where we used to shop a lot esp for my clothes when I was younger.
The jewelry section is where my dad bought a lot of nice things like watches or gifts for my mom, and the sectioned off area used to be furniture and gadgets.
This last spot gives me the most heartbreak as its where we entered and left the mall through a lot. In front of the anchor, used to be this delicious candy stand with their own caramelized nuts my dad and I used to enjoy sooo much! They were super tasty!!
I wish I could taste those again...
Further into one of the sections nesr the last active anchor being JC penny, there's always been this interesting hallway where security was and this SUPER cool store mural based on a coaster! Inside seemed like its last remnants were a clothing store, but pretty creepy and sad.
Further into the mall there is the more dead sections which haven't been active in two decades more or less. Beautiful architecture and pillars line this section, even as a child this was very pretty to walk by.
There was a famous section in this mall that connected underground to the outside and more shops which was so beautiful called the Peacock Alley. It was such a unique subterranean assortment of small businesses, and this was one of the ways to it. Its been closed off for a long time unfortunately.
(Some more pics of the food court since it won't let me upload both his and photos in the same section for some reason)
The food court here used to be full of stalls, the most iconic being the Cajun Grill which has been here the longest and the Smokehouse my dad loved ordering from.
They sectioned off half of the area. Used to be a KB toys and gamestop in there. Its where I got some of my first Bionicles like Onua
This is the middle of the mall, surprised the fountains are still active but yeah this area was really pretty back in the day with lush plants surrounding it. Used to toss coins in there alot haha.

These two are so adorable buddies, ahhh love seeing their interactions-
A MS Paint black-and-white drawing featuring a three-panel comic of Patty and Nefarius. It begins with Patty excitedly telling Nefarius about a new game she got, featuring split-screen co-op shooting action with a "large armored man". Nefarius awkwardly declines her offer, saying he should go and has things to do. In the next panel Patty starts to make a phone call for a large pizza with many toppings, causing Nefarius's attitude to suddenly shift to hesitance. In the final panel he is seen to have chosen to stay, though acting as if it were out of reluctance. They are both then seen with controllers in-hand, while Patty holds the pizza box on top of her head for him, keeping the pizza warm.
