"Two years after Beth Howard enrolled in Eastern Kentucky University (EKU), the Twin Towers in New York City fell. Howard bristled at the anti-Muslim sentiments she heard, and recognized that the resulting so-called war on terror likely would be fought by low-income people."

We know electoral work is not just about casting a vote. It’s about electing candidates who are part of our movement. With Graham in the Senate, we would have someone raising issues we care about such as ICE’s brutality, saying no to war, and opposing the genocide in Gaza.
Graham embodies the kind of change we believe is needed among millions of white people in this country: a shift away from militarism and racism and toward multiracial working-class solidarity that explicitly rejects racism.

BREAKING: We are proud to endorse anti-racist, pro-working class candidate Graham Platner for Maine Senate in the June 9 Democratic primary
The path forward isn’t chaos or division. It’s collective action. When we organize, we create economic security, stability, and hope. FULL STOP.
"The blood is on their hands," one group said of Democratic Sen. John Fetterman and the Republicans who blocked a war powers resolution on Iran.
1. Email your members of Congress and demand support legislation to block bombs to Israel and sign onto the Massie-Khanna resolution in the House and Kaine-Paul resolution in the Senate.
2 ways to take action from anywhere now:
It is not too late to stop this mad rush into region-wide war. Take action by calling your representatives and saying “No War on Iran” and “No Boots on the Ground.” Get organized with neighbors and others to be in the streets.
Starting TONIGHT at 8pm ET:
By the end of this series, your group will be ready to grow your base, mobilize for action, and take part in electoral strategy. We’ll provide all the structure, toolkits, and guidance you need to plug into our national program and make a real difference—block by block
In a democracy, the war on Iran would not be possible.
The Iranian people deserve self-determination, freedom, dignity, and security for their families. That can only come through a coherent diplomatic strategy, not the haphazard and reckless use of military force.
At SURJ, our task remains the same as ever: to stay in committed, strategic action, and to bring more and more white people with us into the multiracial, antiracist, anti-war movement we need.

This is a time to take action to stop the war in Iran and to recommit to the work we have here at home: building a massive resistance person by person, block by block to take on our responsibility as white people in the fight of our lifetimes: stopping the global threat of American authoritarianism.
Last week, Trump wanted to cast blame for the suffering of our people on immigrants, and this week, he’s at it again: same playbook, new target.
This week makes it clear that fighting authoritarianism here in the US has deadly implications across the entire globe.
The Iranian people are not our enemy. They are not the reason that medicaid is being cut, that food pantries are empty, that rent is skyrocketing and our schools are crumbling.
Wars do not make any of us safer. They benefit a tiny number of people whose billionaire agenda will cause death and destruction across the Middle East, fuel racism and Islamophobia here at home, and comes at the cost of millions of Americans who are barely making ends meet.
Over the weekend, the Trump administration attacked Iran without Congressional approval and the death toll is already over 500. In our grief and outrage, we as Americans- especially those of us who are white- must do everything in our power to demand: No War With Iran.
“Wednesday, March 4 at 8 pm ET, we’re launching our newest training program: Block by Block Training and Action Series, to equip SURJ members to organize our communities to get into formation to do our part.”

This year, in addition to talking to neighbors and throwing down in the streets, we’re electing candidates who are committed to the work against ICE, authoritarianism, and who will fight for a multiracial working class people’s movement.
Will is a co-founder of Sunrise Movement and is a longtime climate and tenant organizer. Will is the kind of working class champion that we need on our side!
BREAKING: We are proud to endorse movement leader Will Lawrence for Michigan CD-7 in the August 4th Democratic primary!
UPDATE: Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal says that "ICE used a phony missing persons bulletin for a 5 year old girl," to lie and get into a Columbia residential building and detain a student.
"It is unconfirmed at this time whether they impersonated an officer to do so," he adds.
Let’s use the momentum we’ve built to take a big, bold, beautiful shot together– can you join us?
